@@tehmineyalbuzdag2390 I'm American but my husband is Swiss - we initiated the process in October of 2019, and in May were finally granted a residence permit. Having a European residence permit allowed me to travel from NY to Switzerland despite the current restrictions! Hope that's helpful!

This was an AMAZING tour of Basel!!! So well done! You covered so many things! It's such a beautiful city. I was there many years ago during Faustnacht . It was really magical, but I never got to see the sights. Now I have, thanks to you ! Loved the beautiful architecture, the Tinguely Fountain, the glorious Kunst Museum. You even got to float down the Rhine! What fun that must have been! I always wanted to do that. Maybe one day. Loved seeing all the delicious dishes. The food is so scrumptious in Switzerland. So nice the way they leave treats on the pillows in the hotels. It's always such a delight to share in your adventures. Thank you so much!! 💕, Kate
@GrowingUpWithoutBorders4 жыл бұрын
Hi Kate! Thanks for your nice comment. When you go, you’ll definitely love floating down the Rhine River. This is such a cool experience especially on those hot summer days. I’ve heard of this Faustnacht and apparently it’s a must do event. Everyone talks about it. One day we’ll have to go experience it too.

Great video and great, cute family. Lived for a long time in my childhood in Basel and now in Zurich. If you're ever in Zurich again, go to the Zoo and the Hiltl restaurant. Zurich Zoo is the biggest in Switzerland and really the most beautiful, a whole day is hardly enough to see everything there. And the Hiltl is the oldest vegetarian restaurant in the world with a huge selection of delicious dishes (and not as extremely expensive as Zurich normally is😉). Your wealth as a family should be available to everyone. Thanks for this video and for your family only the best and good health

@9:00: The animal at the top of the fountain is neither a deer, nor a goat. If you knew the German name of the animal, the street name sign at 9:07 would give you a hint: "Gemsberg". It's a "Gemse" (old spelling, new "Gämse"), Rupicapra rupicapra, "chamois" in English. A common wild animal in the alps. But of course, the look pretty much like goats and are related to them.
@GrowingUpWithoutBorders4 жыл бұрын
Oh...thanks for letting us know. That was so cool that they did this treasure hunt through the city. It gives the kids something fun to do while visiting all the sights.
@7019834 жыл бұрын
@@GrowingUpWithoutBorders I watched several videos of your channel meanwhile and sometimes I wondered about "behind the scenes": Children are usually not very interested in sightseeing or even museums. Of course, depending on the kind of museum. I agree, such games like a treasure hunt are a good idea to make this a little bit fun.

I hope that you are well together with your loved ones. In your honest opinion of all the countries that you visited while travelling abroad which one is your favorite place to live and retire? Would recommend Switzerland as a country to visit with this pandemic? Are the major tourist attractions open to the general public? Were you and your family treated well upon arrival at the Person International Airport by the authorities? Thank you for your time, and have a nice day.
@GrowingUpWithoutBorders4 жыл бұрын
Oh boy this is a hard one to fully answer because it really depends on what you're looking for. Here's a list of things we've considered: Weather, cost of living, health care, community, walkability, English speaking etc... We really enjoy parts of Central America and Mexico. New Zealand is really nice as well be feels really far away. The winters in NZ are moderate so not too cold. Columbia is nice weather wise. It's like an eternal spring in Medellin and it's super affordable but not necessarily the best if you are raising kids (in our case). We love Spain (great cost of living nice weather). Switzerland is beautiful and you have little communities everywhere but it's extremely expensive. Our girls answer is close to your family if you have one. :) I found a site where you can put it all your variables with what matters most for you and it then pops out an answer based on what you consider to be important an answer. www.helpmydecision.com/ I'm going to make a separate video on this with advantages and disadvantages since many people ask us this question.
