Great job on getting prepared, glad it wasn't as bad as predicted. Idea for you I did in the past, if you can get a hold of a bunch of old pallets (2 way pallets), take out the middle support board and then just lay the pallet over the plant vines, the top layer of boards will protect plant against hail and wind. Good idea for ground crawling plants. Just an idea for ya. Best wishes.

A few years ago when my brother was in Australia he said they had grapefruit size to the small one person watermelon size hail. Crazy Oklahoma weather is for sure, guess it was a super strong derecho.

Very interesting video Jack! Let us know how the Walnut tree does. Maybe tie it to a wooden stake to help straighten and support it? 🤷🏼♂️

Glad you were able to save all your plants! I live a little North and West of you and we had really strong winds and quarter size hail or a little bigger. But lots of limbs and tree damage here.

Jack, I just can't believe how much bigger your plants are since you last video!!!!!!! Hope the storm doesn't bring you that much grief. Be careful, and I'll be waiting for your next one. Those trees with those tap roots are pretty difficult. Looks like y'all dodged a bullet!!!

We hardly get hail in Southern California, but if we do, it is about the size of a baby pea. We do get high winds sometimes, called Santa Ana winds. It's very dangerous and sometimes makes wildfires worse. Glad your plants survived!

That storm almost took my garden out. Whipped a lot of the leaves off. I think over here by Freedom got hit harder. I saw one of our news channels asking for pictures off large hail, one person took a pic of a dvd in his hand😂 I’ve never heard that for a size either. I chuckled when I was looking at the forecast too!

Wow what a good question. The simple answer is no I've never seen hail that big thankfully.

That tree is the same as cherry tree cherry tree has one main top route right in the center goes way down and roots going out at the sides we had a hard time getting rid of our big old cherry tree because the tap root was so hard to get out and to cut

The meteorological organization's website clarified on their website that hail the size of baseballs would be possible. A DVD is much wider than a baseball, measuring at 4 3⁄4 inches compared to just under 3 inches for a baseball. Live updates:OKC, portions of Oklahoma under tornado watch.
