Former Soldier and INTJ here. Can corroborate the reaction time thing. I got shot at by a sniper in Afghanistan and the bullet landed right next to my foot. Instead of running I started thinking, did one of our guys accidentally discharge? After a few seconds of thinking about who could have accidentally discharged I saw my platoon leader and forward observer running away with bullets skipping up behind them and then I finally ran and started getting my guys to return fire. I always think back to how my analysis instead of action could have gotten me killed if that guy had decided to do a follow up shot on me instead of shooting at someone else. Great learning experience!

All introverted functions solve some kind of need by direct action. Ni solves fear from environment, so we do not get overwhelmed, instead we stay calm, analyze, then act. Which most of the time is the right thing to do. But at certain points in life we learn that "run first, analyze later" is better strategy. Though you also need to know where to run. Ne is the opposite. They are voicing their emotions from unknown, so Ni has to solve them. Then Se is confident about their emotions of sensory experience. What looks good, feels good, is physically painful. Si listen to it, analyzes it and tries to make environment comfortable for others. To attract Ni people, who solve their fears of unknown

Probably the best Ni example, perfect. Great video ! Se is so fast.🤣I am also INTJ - Ni/Fi - SCBP We need to pay more attentions to details, be more on the present to be more efficient, and... acting right now ! before it's too late. Enjoy the present.

I can sort of relate as an Ne user. I see the missiles all around me, so to speak. And I'm just hunkering down, trying to find the neat trick that will let me escape all of a sudden, in the most epic, clean way possible. I would like to see a model of the cognitive functions that uses aircraft combat simulation as a theme. I've already imagined a model of the sensory functions based on navigating a complex cavern.

I've been subscribed to GS for a couple of years now. He's very good, but it is hilarious when he misjudges the situation. The best part of it is his sense of humor about it. He has no qualms about making jokes about his mistakes.
@jankom.7783
@jankom.7783 Жыл бұрын
I would say that the mistakes are what he collects. So he can learn from them. So when he makes a mistake it is such a niche, unusual mistake, that he has no problem to present that. Because as far as I can tell, Ni is about putting themselves into unfamiliar situation, trying to solve it until comes to a mistake, learning from it and adopting a new behavioral pattern. Repeat until you feel like you conquered the problem/situation. And then find some other problem.

Oh lord, I relate so hard to this, confidently going about making commentary about what's happened, what's happening, and what's going to happen, only to faceplant when my Ni outraces my Se so badly that I'm comedically shocked by how everything went so wrong so quickly. Meanwhile my sensor buddies saw it coming a mile away. Maybe even warned me. And I brushed them off because I just knew better.

once the patterns are all identified, we can seemingly become very good at Se...but it's only once the physics of every possible situation have been "downloaded" to the brain...with games I've noticed this can surprise ppl that think you are sh*t for so long, they give up expecting much from you, and then suddenly, one day, you have a lot of the sensory worked out and you can be as good as your eye-hand coordination allows you to be. this doesn't always work well outside of games bc some situations have only one chance to perform (like something involving a critical decision on a human life). this has led me to really see Ni (the Oi that i have) as being just as past focused as Si except we are not focused on the precise steps but rather the scenarios or situations that those steps can occur. so when a similar scenario or the context of one starts to come into being, we have a "preloaded" set of sensory that can be anticipated and that's what makes us seem future focused. i've had the pleasure/pain of working with an ISTJ, but it has been the first time i know of that i get to see and experience Si and, delightfully, i get to understand it. a good example of Ni/Si was the video this channel has on the two ppl organizing their tools. it shows what Oi does when it has the time and initiative to plan for sensory vs react to it.

Okay. I was hoping since it seems as if you've seen a lot of his videos, that the context would be added that these are appropriate responses. If he were to perform more often as a single decider rather than a single observer he leaves himself far more open to losses (given that this is a dynamic time-sensitive situation). The same NI can be seen with other Airmen who play mil-sims online such as Fighting Falcon. Another thing to keep in mind is that this channel (Growling Sidewinder) is not for playing the games, it's focused on the ins & outs of military strategy. There are hundreds of DCS channels, few of them are ex-military and fewer still explain how to take advantage of the extremely intricate digital recreation of airborne warfare in a fun way. The game's manual is 390 pages, each aircraft has it's own manual and unique procedures. The manual for the A-10 Warthog is 671 pages. For the F-16, his bird of choice it's 452. What is left out of the manuals is tactics. Which is why he spends all his time explaining. I'd rather that this was broached differently but this was still entertaining.

There's a reason why Ni is the opposite of Se, right? I learned how to accept I suck at Se and avoid putting myself against Se-action oriented settings and events because that would be I would say too much of the good thing. We just can't double observe, it's a weakness. So since we have the patterns, we can't have the action then. Here's a truth: The more Ni knows about something, the more the INTJ is disabled from doing that which he figured out why. Unlike Deciders, the iron rule is different. The more deciders know about something, the more they are able to do it. Observers on the other hand, let's say Ni dom specifically, mastery of the patterns equals incapacity to perform them. The more one is able to Ni perceive into a matter, the more it is unable to perceive being that matter. Hence, the more refined the Ni observation is, the more it pushes the Se further. What Dave is suggesting is leaning more to him trying to be more "decider" by lowering down his Ni and making his Se rise up to the same level - it's basically what deciders do. Sometimes it might be beneficial to do that, but I prefer having my Ni - it may not be good in Se, but damn, the insights I gain is always out of this world. That's all, thank you!

AS an ENTP, we share the same sentiment:: There's a reason why Ne is the opposite of Si, right? I learned how to accept I suck at Si and avoid putting myself against Si-action oriented settings and events because that would be I would say too much of the good thing. We just can't double observe, it's a weakness. So since we have the patterns, we can't have the practical action then. Here's a truth: The more Ne knows about something, the more the ENTP is disabled from doing that which he figured out why. Unlike Deciders, the iron rule is different. The more deciders know about something, the more they are able to do it. Observers on the other hand, let's say Ne dom specifically, mastery of the patterns equals incapacity to execute them practically. The more one is able to Ne perceive into a matter, the more it is unable to perceive being that matter. Hence, the wider the Ne observation is, the more it pushes the Si further. What Dave is suggesting is leaning more to him trying to be more "decider" by lowering down his Ni and making his Se rise up to the same level - it's basically what deciders do. Sometimes it might be beneficial to do that, but I prefer having my Ne - it may not be good in Si, but damn, the insights I gain is always out of this world.

@johnniedilangcruz9287 I think Ni is cooler than Ne. Ni is an imagination that has a sense of direction or a narrative, while Ne is an imagination that goes everywhere and it's impersonal i.e making me nerdy. Se on the other hand is cooler than Si. Se is the immediate and unbiased use of the real time Sensory, while Si is focused on remembering past Sensory functions vividly i.e it's rigid and inflexible, again making me nerdy.

@@freshbakedclips4659 I can only take that compliment from an intuitive. The thing is, Ni is very weak and awkward Sensory-wise. You know Ni because of how poorly they project the S out - hence, the demon Se. Sensory-wise though, we are not really cool - our world, extends beyond the Sensory plane - so there's really no point for Ni to compete with Se based activities since they are bound to fail miserably. The real world for Ni is where the real 'gods' are. lol. That my friend is way more cooler. That's all, thank you. xD

I just watched the Jordan Peterson interview with Peter Schiff and I think it could be an interesting type interaction breakdown video. I personally thought it was funny because you could sense the underlying tension between the two and their personalities. Jordan would ask a question and Peter in the attempt to answer would go off into left field in this semi-related issue on that and just blast nonstop it was hilarious. Finally after Peter's rant, Jordan would try to summarize/conceptualize it but Peter wouldn't let him, constantly interrupting and blasting. It was very entertaining. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJPMXpKko5mtl9k
