How big do you plan on keeping the mango trees that you consider 6 feet apart plenty of space?
@RealLifeFruitopiaКүн бұрын
It will take 10 years for an inground grafted mango to reach 6 feet in Melbourne. That means, I'll be pruning these new mangoes when I'm 70 yo (I'm now 60), IF they beat the cold.

@ I had forgotten you told me before that mangos grow slowly there

Those are beautiful weeds😅the variegated long leaves are spider plants. If I live near you, I would love to take some.😂

Beautiful but invasive, so not ideal with fruit trees close by.

Hey George,we have 30 degrees in Cape Town but weve been having terrible wind all December and up until today.My new growth above my grafted Tommy Atkins tree leaves torn so hard the wind is blowing.I thank God but this wind can now stop.

Wrap plastic around the mango to buffer side winds. We are familiar with the westerly winds that come from Western Australia.

ahh the classic running out of space problem. I know the feeling mate. I have just put up a trellis at the front of my house, which is only like like 5m2. pedestrians can just about grab whatevers growing on it

Yeah, finding space is a constant challenge.

Do your potted bananas fruit while in the pot or that’s just temporary until you find a home in the ground?
@RealLifeFruitopiaКүн бұрын
The potted dwarf cavendish bananas in the driveway have never fruited, that's after 8 years. My regular size goldfinger and rajapuri varieties have fruited in pots.

@ I have a Kokopo in a pot and thinking of moving a couple more to pots bc I’d like to plant an orange and a guava tree in their place. But I’d like to get fruits from those

What varieties are those, i did not hear it.
@RealLifeFruitopiaКүн бұрын
I didn't mention the varieties in the video, but they are both common sweet Indian varieties. Follow up coming soon.
