if a steel plug was put in the tubing before you weld it, do you think that would effect welding it together?

Wishbone track locator is the best thing I did to my car.... it became undriveable after I went to the radial tire. A panhard bar just does work on fast cars that run lots of rear seperation..... like you explained the side to side movement of the rear turns the car. I've noticed GW doing the same thing for a while now and wondered when Johnathan was gonna get away from the panhard bar. Enjoyed the video.

Man, I’m amazed at that car! Can’t wait to see what it does this year. Should definitely help with launching the car and keeping it straight.

It comes with instructions that tell you not to weld on the tubing where the bushings go. The supports are supposed to be welded on in the middle away from the first and last 2" of the slider tube

We make our production units different now to get away from bushings. Still have to adjust the bushings after welding to get just right again. It's no big deal really. Could send them out as is and it'd be fine but we want it as free moving as it came in the raw.

Hey, do you think the old set up was why the car was going left in 1-2-3 gear?

Question: why not welding the tabs vertical instead of horizontal? Then there will be almost impossible to get bind when rearend travels up/down, or? This is a general question as "everybody'" seems to weld the wishbone tabs horizontally...
@rocksolidmotorsports72973 жыл бұрын
Because the load the wishbone is seeing is horizontal

How is this for a street driven car?

My question is. What is the difference between mounting it behind the rear-end inserted in front?
@rocksolidmotorsports72973 жыл бұрын
You can really Mount I wishbone any direction. My personal car the wishbone is on the bottom of the rear end with the single mounting point on the chassis. This one obviously is an opposite of that and behind the rear. The torque arm pretty much eliminates the available real estate anywhere forward of the rear end and because there is nothing to connect it to down low it's pretty common for the f-body community to place it in this location
@Outlawv219922 жыл бұрын
I have a question Stephen. The wishbone is headed "downhill" at full droop of rearend but what about at ride height? how much higher is that thing going to travel and would the beveled bushings need to compensate for that??? Reason i'm asking is because I have an MWC ARB that rides above the rearend but uses the same technology as the one on GW, with cut to length tubes down to housing mounted tabs on the top of their fabricated 9". Mounted to a crossmember where the fuel tank used to reside. I'm trying to see if there would be interference at ride height of these two items.
@rocksolidmotorsports72972 жыл бұрын
At ride height it is going uphill about the same amount maybe a little bit more. It's not going to be at ride height going down the track so you have to find a happy medium somewhere
@chrisrich28283 жыл бұрын
what length torque arm?

You like it, you recommend it,....so why aren't you welding them up, and offering them for sale, with tabs, so that it's damn near a "drop in" item? They're already adjustable. Wtf.
