The behavior of units on mobile beacon is that they continue moving while there is nothing on the path of the mobile beacon. If anything enters the path of the mobile beacon, they stop to shoot.

giant noob here, is it really worth to skip something like +40% shield or photon ability for only 50 cash? why?

Photon is only for one unit, and +40% shield is worth it only in endgame, when you have a lot of money to spend and only if you use shield in your game of course.

Rarely. The photon is a great item on certain units (like worms who can't get photon another way) and personally i would never skip it. The +shield can be ok early game, but bubble shields will get 1-shot most times in the lategame anyway, so skipping it is fine, too.

Probably an easy win with scorpion range and any actual chaff clear, he was way too invested in sledges and had nowhere near enough chaff to transition before gg. Should have been game over the other way around as soon as the marksmen got that many levels and the scorpions were sold, especially with typhoons and knowing the wasps were coming.
