Growing up in the 1950's in San Diego, CA USA, I loved watching the USCG Albatrosses cross over Harbor Drive to Lindbergh Field. There were also PB-Y and big 4 engine cargo seaplanes on the bay. Thank you for refreshing pleasant memories.

I've somehow become a total seaplane nut without realizing it was happening. They are such charismatic machines, and the skills involved with navigating them and flying them are something special. Seaplane pilots are among the most talented, because the mechanics of taking off and landing from water, and especially taxiing, are highly complex and changeable. Did you know that seaplane pilots can "sail" their planes using the wind? It's one of the primary methods of getting to a docking place. You can't just steer the plane and use brakes and throttle to maneuver it, you've got to juggle about 7 or 8 different factors and make them all result in the plane ending up in the place you desired, wITHOUT running into anything or getting turned over by the wind.

But you can steer the plane… with left and right throttles, the rudder, the water rudder. Slow down by lowering the gear, reversing the props or using a water brake. It’s not a sailboat man.

It's not WRONG for the Albatross. It's a good tune. No-one said the music had to be from the same era the plane was from. Many videos have music from the last few decades with planes that are 60 or 70 years old.
