Grumpy Old Otis Bottom-Drive Traction Lift (1960's?)

This was found in a hotel, and although it has newer buttons and indicator, it seems it has its original controller and motor. Note how the emergency light has been slapped over the original indicator. Definitely has a personality this one, the doors sometimes bounce back as they open, and sometimes slam shut, and it has a bouncy start and stop. Great fun to ride and great motor sound, although you have to press the floor button twice (it cancels the call when the doors begin to close) and it wont register calls while the lift is in use. Getting rarer to see lifts like this with character nowadays!

Definitely a VF mod on the motor a Otis without VF would have banged to a stop and instantly opened its doors.

Hmm not so sure about VF, it does level with a plop however is 2 speed
