He was born in the 60s, grew up in the 70s & his band was founded nearly THIRTY years ago. His heyday was twenty years ago. That's about the same length of time that there was between Buddy Holly's death and the rise of Nirvana! Marilyn Manson: I can’t stand his music, I can’t stand his makeup, I can’t stand his antics, I really don’t like him at all. Having said that, Columbine was NOT his fault at all in any way shape or form. In interviews he was articulate, compassionate and well spoken. When asked what he would say to the Columbine survivors, he responded “nothing, I would listen to them”. He was falsely accused and maligned for something he had nothing to do with. I believe his career is doing just fine. If there are people who like his music enough to pay for it and he can make a living at it then I say good for him. Just because I don’t like his music or his persona doesn’t mean he’s responsible for the evil actions of others. The politicians who cut funding for mental health care in this country were DEFINITELY responsible for Columbine as were the parents who spent so little time with their sons that they didn’t see the signs of mental instability leading up to the shooting. Also, I don’t blame video games for anything, I blame the parents who don’t shutdown the game system and take their children outside to go for walks or play catch or maybe just maybe sit down and listen to what their children have to say about what’s going on in their life.
