If anything, the false accusations brought Marilyn Manson more publicity. Angry mothers and religious zealots protesting a rock show? Sign me up! Since the Columbine shooting Marilyn has gone on to release numerous acclaimed studio albums, embarking on extensive world tours with each one. He has been referenced (animated but not voiced by) on South Park and Family Guy and has, himself, acted in a handful of movies and TV shows including Sons of Anarchy and Salem. On top of all this he has had a modeling gig with saint laurent and in what little free time he must have, hangs out with his buddy Johnny Deppp. So I wouldn't say he's anything but one of the hardest working artists- and one of the last TRUE artists this world has. Unfortunately, I fear that like many artists before him, his true greatness may not be realized until after he is gone. From 'The God of Fuck' to the 'Antichrist Superstar' Marilyn Manson truly stands among no one else.

You're right. Marilyn Manson: I can’t stand his music, I can’t stand his makeup, I can’t stand his antics, I really don’t like him at all. Having said that, Columbine was NOT his fault at all in any way shape or form. In interviews he was articulate, compassionate and well spoken. When asked what he would say to the Columbine survivors, he responded “nothing, I would listen to them”. He was falsely accused and maligned for something he had nothing to do with. I believe his career is doing just fine. If there are people who like his music enough to pay for it and he can make a living at it then I say good for him. Just because I don’t like his music or his persona doesn’t mean he’s responsible for the evil actions of others. The politicians who cut funding for mental health care in this country were DEFINITELY responsible for Columbine as were the parents who spent so little time with their sons that they didn’t see the signs of mental instability leading up to the shooting. Also, I don’t blame video games for anything, I blame the parents who don’t shutdown the game system and take their children outside to go for walks or play catch or maybe just maybe sit down and listen to what their children have to say about what’s going on in their life. So leave music and games out of it and look at parents, doctors, councillors, teachers, and peers instead. Marilyn- Rock on dude
