Originally, the only real stars of "MythBusters" were hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, but as the show went on, viewers were introduced to the Build Team: Kari Byron, Tori Belleci, and Grant Imahara. While Imahara may not have had the over-the-top personality of his co-stars, he probably had the most experience in both robotics and in the entertainment industry. Imahara helped operate two of the most iconic characters in the "Star Wars" franchise -- and he even helped Craig Ferguson get a sidekick on his late-night talk show. Let’s take a look at the untold truth of Grant Imahara from "MythBusters."

@@spookytimescaryvideos4395 what’s wrong with you? I am Asian American and grew up with a decided dearth of people who looked like me on television who weren’t depicted as losers and nerds, or if lucky, as a lifetime martial artist who existed for the white lead to eventually defeat after practicing martial arts for a few weeks via montage. Seeing someone like Grant, a competent, fun loving part of a team was something I would have loved to see as a kid, and I hope his presence in tv helped inspire a whole generation of future Asian American actors and actresses and people in the media as he helped pave the way for them.

@@SheepShanker That ain't the same. Many people die every day from heavy objects in blue collar work. Not very many get killed by standing on the sidewalk. Granted, sidewalks aren't safe either. lumberjacks have one of the most dangerous jobs in the world (~1/200 chance of death on the job). Their job is to make heavy objects fall. Have you been around large falling objects? Have you seen the insurance rates for anyone working around cranes/forklifts. My grandpa's company pays ~60$/hr in insurance per employee because cranes and forklifts. If they didn't have those, I believe the rates would be ~20$/hr. Insurance is based of the likelihood of an injury and the cost of said injury, with that high of rates, it shows the rate and cost are VERY high.

I grew up watching the MythBusters I even have a few autographs from all the main hosts. When I think of my favorite show, I always think of the MythBusters. The show would’ve never been the same without Grant. I hope you rest easy brother.

I'm in my forties used to watch mythbusters in my 30s and thought Grant was in his 20s at the time. Turns out he's at least 5 or 6 years older than me!

R.I.P. Grant. I always enjoyed watching your work, and you had so much left to offer. We are greater for having known you and less for losing you too soon. Could 2020 PLEASE stop with the tragedy and turmoil? It’s just getting ruck-snucking ridiculous. 😠

I miss Geoff Peterson. As a long time Mythbusters fan I'm surprised some of the other machines Grant built on the show didn't at least injure him, especially the ones with swinging blades. RIP Jessi Combs.

I wached this video this morning, whilst being unaware of his death at that time. He was my favorite mythbuster if i had to pick, but they are all fascinating engineers to me. He will truly be a loss to society, and to the millions of scientists and engineers who ware inspired by his genius. Rest in peace Grant,You will not be forgotten.

Rip Grant. Im usually not affected by celebrity deaths, because they're just a face on a screen. Grant was different. You could tell he was a genuinely good man. Sensitive, brilliant and all around great role model. Condolences to his family and friends. This is truly a sad day. At least his love and passion is visible forever for everyone to witness through his many tv projects . RIP Grant.
