Can we get a Grunt Proof swing set test and review?

Mine is definitely not grunt proof!

@@GruntProof lol, thought the way you connected the swings to the cross member was really ingenious and appears to allow you with relative ease switch out the swings as the children age up or whimsy dictates. Nicely done. :)

Used my DD tarp in the UK for nearly a year now in Dartmoor national park in all weathers, never let me down. Superb bit of kit. Great videos by the way. Thanks for making the effort.

I went with the 4x4 as I have a need to cover a vehicle. Tying off to the roof rack and covering the roof for sun protection. The remainder should make a nice awning. This tarp is well reinforced at all the tie downs and the ridge line. Should make an awesome shelter. Your review led me to getting this tarp. Thanks and stay safe.

I got the 3x3 multicam and found slipping a knot up against the weak-springed buckle on the stuff-sack helps, unless speed is a real issue, but otherwise, the quality is a no-brainer for the cash.

5:02 Music to my fucking ears! The humour in using Intermission in that way is absolutely stellar 😆 Ixnay on the Hombre. Just added to my tabbing playlist! (If you're Bri'ish, rucking is either "yomping", "tabbing" or "speed-marching", depending on how much weight you're carrying and how fast you're going). Honestly, I quite like rucking as a word, I'm gonna start using that!)

had a couple of these, they are very good, ... i use one in a storm with a center pole and did have a little bit of stretching, but to be honest i didnt expect it to last the night and have seen military ponchos destroyed in similar conditions, When my current tarp is due to be replaced i plan to get another DD Tarp.

If only the issued poncho was a bit bigger... Thanks!

I have the exact same tarp. Judging by how old this video is we probably even bought them around the same time if you’ve tested it over a year. Mine hasn’t been through nearly as much. But I still love it.

I've had this tarp in 4x4 for a about a month. Except for taking a razor to it or dousing in gas and lighting it off it's stood up to all the abuse I can come up with. DD should have them independently tested and a hurricane category designation figured out. Keep up the no BS reviews.

I just recieved two of the Frontline hammocks. . One fir my son and myself. They are definitely made of good materials. The zippers were fairly solid and the tie offs seem strong. I bought the jungle camo version. Meshes well enough with midwest foliage. The fact it has pop up capabilities is a big plus and its roomier than the USMC bivy. It doesnt have the bucket though so wet weather could be an issue if deployed on the ground without a tarp. Looking at acquiring some of their covers now but I have 5 or so USMC field covers I can use. The mylar on these is a big draw though.

Thanks for the video and test Randall. Would like to get one of those tarps. A while back I see a DD shelter tarp with an optional screen enclosure inner which I was considering as a very lightweight bugproof shelter. That was almost 2 yrs ago when I seen it on the Self Reliance Outfitters website. Didn't know they offered other tarps.👍

Hey Randall, I was wondering if I used the M.S.S. Patrol bag, woobie and slept in the GI waffle top and bottoms if I would be comfortable below freezing? I know the Patrol Bag is supposed to be rated to 30 degrees. Plus I would be using this in a tent. Trying to figure out ways to reduce weight and increase compactness for cold weather.
@GruntProof4 жыл бұрын
That would definitely be too cold for me, but I know guys that can do that. It depends on your tent and how warm you sleep. I do have an interesting test for this winter that goes along those lines.

How does the Tarp look under nightvision? Is it IRR resistant?

Love the T-shirt! I've been lookin at DD for a square tarp for a plough point set up (just one tree attachment). DD's multi-cam seems to be a bastard child of DPM and Flectarn lol. If you want a monster cord lock check out the flat Finnish army cord locks at Varusteleka (also a DD tarp retailer if you can't find them on Amazon).

They are a great tarp, I have had mine a couple of years now, and it still performs as new. They are available in a few different sizes if you want something smaller, but I like the room for kit under mine. Are you planning on reviewing any hiking boots? Like as in a long use grunt proof fashion! Greets from sunny Wales, Dave G.

How does this compare with the AquaQuest tarp?

I haven't tried them yet. I might get one for comparison. I've avoided them because of their multiple youtube endorsers, and how they treated them. Maybe it's time to call them out...
