Definitely keep your family life private. The internet has become like the movie "The Truman Show." Everyone's life is like a TV show. As far as content goes, I'd love to see a video on your style evolution and how it has changed over the years.

Love that you stood firm in your statement! Some people seem to have this delusion that how we present ourselves doesn't affect people's perception of us. And when so many men are out here feeling entitled to women's bodies to the point of taking their lives, it is a very big deal

Good morning ch’Rizma. I am pretty accepting and pretty easy going but one thing that I will always be passionate about is the way our young women are dressing and presenting themselves. Love your body, take care of your body, but also realize that loving yourself and loving you body also means respecting it.

I truly enjoyed this video, and appreciate how you stood firm in your opinions . I agree with everything you said. What’s unfortunate is that problem is exacerbated by the fashion and marketing industry. What I mean to say is that the clothing and messaging geared to these young women is perpetuating this notion that it’s okay. It’s been a while since I went shopping, but the last time I did, so much of the women’s fashion was crop tops, cut out, body con, booty shorts, etc. When I was in my teens and late twenties, I would get mistaken for being older because I naturally came off more mature and classy, but I wasn’t able to appreciate the respect I got because it made me feel old and undesirable, so I wanted to dress sexy and be seen that way. I just entered my thirties, and I found your channel maybe a year ago now when I felt convicted to change the way I dressed and become more modest. The funny thing is, I feel more comfortable now covered up that I did when I was constantly pulling and adjusting clothing that I wasn’t comfortable in. I appreciate your disclaimer on modesty, and I totally understand. Even though a few of your outfits show a bit more skin than I would, I’m still inspired by your styling and I’m able to take away the elements that would suit me personally. I appreciate that the focus of this channel will remain on fashion and hair. I know what I’m getting when you post. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos ❤

Hello Ai Ben. Thank you, I appreciate your support. I just wanted it to be clear, I do think women should dress as ladies , but I will pull out a backless dress ( within reason ) in a minute. I just didn't want someone to expect one thing and come summer they are surprised. And that is exactly why I do this, for someone else I may show too much skin but they can get inspiration and take away what feels comfortable for them. When I was in my 20's I was mainly traveling for my contracts and they called for business casual, so for years my closet consisted of business casual pieces and now that I work from home I can experiment a little and I am enjoying it so much. But even on those assignments women were coming in club ready. I agree with you on the fashion industry ( I am fully aware that I am part of it lol ) but it seems they are trying to blur the lines between a lady and street walker and I don't support that. I will not wear something because its on trend if it is inappropriate.

I’m just thankful for whatever you want to share that’s good enough for me .I’m what you call petite when I was younger yes I like to show some skin but guess what I realize I was getting all the wrong kind of attention. So I changed my style of dressing and to be honest I feel more comfortable now without having to show too much skin. Thanks for just being real all the time

Hey Mya, I love your channel, fashion, hair, your logic and your diction skills, which has me binge watching your videos. So excuse the comment to a video posted 11 months ago. I don’t completely agree with what you said. For context I’m 24. A bit about me; I’m college educated, I’ve been in a six year secure relationship(so I’m not really pressed on attracting the wrong or right kind of male attention), and I think grew up in a different generation. I am a feminist, not in the I hate men way, but in the free will of women way. I am not religious. I also go out to nightclubs, but I’m also aware enough to understand dress code per event. I personally don’t have aspirations to be an “elegant woman”, but I’m aware enough to play that role to get what I want in the appropriate location (jobs, respect). I have aspirations to be myself. Sometimes, I dress more revealing just because that’s how I feel to express myself. Just as fashion through a more modest lens is an expression of self, I believe it can be an expression of self through a more revealing lens too. I do think it’s important to understand others’s perceptions and what that comes with. That’s in life. You can control folks impression of you, which I think a lot of young people don’t understand. Understanding this, I truly don’t mind in certain locations if folks have a distasteful impression of me, if I feel comfortable. Now when I need to make a particular impression, that may be a different story. I love your videos and respect your opinion, which is why I cared enough to share my own. Even though we don’t agree, I enjoy your videos because of how thoroughly you explain your thought process. It helps me understand the other side which is really important to me. I think the mistreatment of women by some men is propagated by a lot of things, and can’t be completely solved by covering up. In the male community, there are issues like p**n addiction, misogyny, and the sexualization of women through media and advertising in general that informs those men’s attitude from youth to adulthood. I’ll concede that women looking to attract a certain kind of guy can influence that by how they dress. For that demo of women, I completely understand why this is an imperative conversation to have. In my opinion, it’s all about understanding your goals in life haha. I think for me personally as soon as I hear elegant or feminine lifestyle I realize I’m not the target group 🤣 Though I do like to turn a well tailored feminine, elegant look from time to time, it’s just not my ideal true lifestyle and headspace. I leave room to change as I get older, have kids and things, but I’m enjoying my 20s for now. Thanks for reading! Also I love that you’re putting your family’s privacy first.

I think your true followers should and will respect your privacy. We’re grateful for the tips. Second, I agree wholeheartedly with the comments about how women are dressing, and what is respectable. I live in Florida and it is horrible here. I don’t think it is just showing too much skin, but my husband and I also like to travel, and the number of young women we see in the airport that look like they just rolled out of bed is crazy. It is sad that you don’t have enough pride in yourself and your appearance to not put on some clothes.

We understand, you don't have to expose your family to YT. As far as this content, to me fashionable means you're prone to fads and not fashion. For example you can purchase pieces that never go out of style. I do like the idea that you would like to teach young women how to dress, etc. My friend and I once thought about something similar, which included speaking, etc. I can just imagine you showing young ppl outfits in different body types and how they would be perceived as opposed to another person dressed elegantly. Sometimes a visual in a certain setting makes all the difference. I bet they would be receptive, and you would gain quite a following. You should do it! Thank you, Mya.

I have to agree with you on your points! I think the concept of women being comfortable with themselves is a good ideology, and that women deserve respect as human beings regardless of appearance, BUT as a society we are quickly and unfortunately losing any sense of morality. I think people have to stop idealizing the world and viewing things as how things "should" be or how they "wish" things were, and just accept reality and live accordingly. We can all say that it shouldn't matter what women wear/how we present ourselves and that men should treat us properly regardless of what we wear, but the reality is that as women we set the standards and we teach men how to treat/view us. Men like easy access to viewing women and to having women. If we all start wearing no clothes and essentially being "easy" (for lack of a better term) for men, then men have less incentive to treat us with respect, chivalry, going the extra mile, etc. They're selling lies to young girls and ruining the morals of this generation. We're going to have a lot of disappointed young women in a few years, and a lot of young men with no self control and distorted tastes in women. I honestly can already see it in my generation but I'm just thankful i've woken up to it all. Side note: your skin looks fantastic!
@KlassicallyKept
@KlassicallyKept Жыл бұрын
Hello Iae. I love your perspective and completely agree with you and I am also glad you have woken up. As I said in the video I have no problem with women empowerment and body positivity but it has taken a turn for the worse, it is getting out of control. Loving your body does not mean that you have to be half dress , apart of loving your body is respecting it. Like you said we need to stop teaching young women and girls that body image does not matter, it is a myth. How someone presents themselves dictates a lot more than people like to admit. This affects young men too like you said, they will become accustom to it and expect it, they wont even blink an eye. Thank you, I keep my skin care very simple.

Yes, i do also agree we have come to a dark, etc point of women versed men in the fact that a man does not know whether or not to hold open a door for a women, to some not all not even helping, etc u pick up a item in the store u may have drop or asking if u need help! On & on . yes, their has been a need for change in which a women can do her job in peace. , pay, etc. Her choices of her body & not a husband having to sign whether she can have a abortion or not. True story happen to 1 of my best girl friends she want one & dr. Need his permission! Well they have a beautiful daughter who is the apple of his eye & now she has a young daughter. We need to find the balance of honor, respect, etc for each other as we are let's face it in a part of each other's life! We are women we birth son's & in turn said son's marry women & have daughter's ! WHEW!SMH! grace to all.some how we have lost our way! So 😥! grace to u & all.gh

Hey Gail. Agree with all your points. In a way I do think we as a society have lost our way and it has been happening for some years now, I think now we are just really starting to see it and cannot hide from it. We do need to find a way to honor and respect one another which s tarts at home. Teach young women to cover up and stop it with the hot girl summers. Teach young men to respect women and keep a household: protect, provide, and profess.

I see women over 50 wearing leggings and they never wear a shirt that is long enough to cover their bottoms and some of them have their big humongous “cookies” hanging out in these leggings. Those days are far and few, when you could actually tell the difference between a street walker and a lady. Women in the 50’s wore gloves and dresses but now… 😞

Hey Connie lol Sometimes I feel like I was born in the wrong era. David had me watching what I believe was Harlem Nights ...and the fashions! The women were dressed like ladies. Now he has me watching The Godfather of Harlem and Bumpy Johnson's wife Maime, is me 😂. I miss the days when women and men would dress when they left the house. Now you can leave the house as you please. I remember when I was in college the cafe had to put a sign in the front stating no pjs and bonnets
