When I saw this episode of your KZbin series, you could almost hear the screech of my shoes. I never lived in Japan, but I worked for ANA for 14 years but in NYC, but when I passed through the doorway, it was like I was in Japan. You were correct about everything you said about the people, though some were prejudiced. Most were just curious. Like you, I spoke the language (I haven't spoken a word since I left in 2006, I haven't even heard a word of Japanese since then). I couldn't read or write anything outside of my name. The only thing I have left from that experience was good memories and a hankering for sushi that I try to quench every chance I get.
