I’m from the middle east and have a straight hair but I have so many friends who have a similar hair texture to you and they were always harassed and pressured to wear their hair straight to the point some of them have really damaged their hair. Thankfully now with social media the awareness has increased and standards are different. I see more girls rocking their natural hair and learning the proper steps on how to style their natural curls.

Gabriela de Otero literally was about to comment basically the exact same thing. kinky/coily/curly hair is MESMERIZING to me and i'm honestly jealous of people with curly hair. mine is hardly wavy on top but has tons of curls underneath and some parts are almost straight??? also my hair gets incredibly dry and frizzy oml. i've tried so many different shampoos/conditioners/stylers in the past year and nothing has really worked and it sucks. i feel like wavy hair is the most stubborn because it's all over the place and some products do nothing while others are wayyyy too heavy and yeah /: i've all but given up on working with mine too but i just wish i could find something that eliminates my frizz without weighing my hair down and defining my waves and few curls.

I have very fine hair and I wish I had more volume, but the Pantene shampoo and coinditioner keeps me frizzless (is that a word?), maybe you could try it. My hair is straight from the roots to the middle and then it shows a few waves, I had so many beautiful curls as a kid but then puberty hit me hard and they never came back. :(

Colleen XO Plus imagine that many people with her curl pattern and tighter (like mine) can't do wash n' gos (some of us have textures that tangle way too much when not stretched) and instead have to twist, bantu knot, or braid, etc. our hair after we wash it.😅 This is why we call it a "wash day" because most of the time it takes all day and sometimes longer depending on how tangled your hair was before you started, or what style you're doing. It is so taxing, but it's worth it most of the time

Anyone with curly needs to try Giovanni conditioners, they’re great as a leave in & even as a deep conditioner. The tea tree line is AMAZING if you have very dry to very oily hair (tea tree helps with dry or oily scalps & is amazing for those with dandruff). They have natural ingredients & have so much slip so it’s great for finger detangling. Also a 32 oz bottle is like $13 at tj maxx/Marshall’s. Also recommend the deeper moisture line for super dry hair

Yes! And I totally feel you about pressure to be a certain type of natural. My edges are rude and my friends are always asking why I don't reign them in. Well I tried that and had to wait for them edges to grow back. They back. They don't like to be laid and the do what ever they please. Including looking real crazy and free!
