so great to see you back and I'm so glad you got your diagnosis! just wanted to share that I had shown signs of extreme anxiety my whole life and was diagnosed with depression and anxiety around 12/13. then in 2021 at 19 after some really awful university experiences my doctor sent me to get an adhd assessment and i got diagnosed. over the past 1.5 years with therapy and adhd medication my anxiety and depression symptoms have subsided so much that i dont even meet the DSM criteria for them anymore which blows my mind because i never thought I'd live a depression-free life. it's crazy what understanding the root cause of mental health issues and having a good therapist can do for you

I'm really happy to read your journey. That's amazing. This is all so new to me but the depression and anxiety symptoms that go along with adhd seem so common. I wouldn't have known that before my research and it seems like a lot of people don't know it. That's why theres so much undiagnosed adhd. Thank you for sharing!!

Im really glad you’re back! Especially that this video showed up on my suggested because I feel like I’ve never related to something as much as you explained about doing work/school. I currently finished my second year of university and i was doing the bare minimum to pass my classes. I could NEVER focus on my zoom classes at all and could only listen if it was in person, but even then was easily distracted. Now that I’m not doing school or anything i sleep very late and cannot wake up and am still tired during the day. This video really inspired me to make a trip to the doctors. Thank you so much for sharing your experience because it was really eye opening and made me feel understood!

Wow I'm so glad I could inspire you to make that doctor's appointment! Knowing a lil how your brain might work... If you haven't done it yet, there's still time in the day to make that call or email an appointment request! I'm sorry you've been struggling but there are answers out there. Good luck on your mental health journey!

Thank you maya! I always appreciate you!! It can all be super intimidating so I understand. What matters tho is that you keep trying! There's a lot of resources out there and I actually found a lot of online communities that helped me through it all. Pls feel free to reach out to me if you need a lil push or guidance❤️ I hope you're doing well!

Good job taking care of yourself. It’s hard to make those initial steps, even when we know deep down that we need something we’re not getting. 💜

Good luck, V C. A good doctor will guide you and make you feel comfortable. I was extremely nervous/stressed before my appointment. Even developed an eye twitch leading up to the appointment lol. It will be such a relief when you get it over with! I hope it all goes well.

I noticed you were offline for a while, I was hoping everything was okay xx congrats on the house :) I feel like I see so many people get diagnosed with adhd in adulthood lately, I feel like I want to look into it but I keep telling myself there’s no way I have it for whatever reason, also in Ireland the public mental health sector doesn’t deal with adhd and private psychiatrists don’t accept adhd patients either so I know a lot of people who had to go abroad to get medication for it. Healthcare can be so off putting, i understand why you were reluctant to go to the doctor for it!
@chessiedomrongchai Жыл бұрын
I can't believe it's that challenging to get help for adhd in Ireland. I'm sorry! Healthcare is very off putting and it definitely was part of holding me back from seeking treatment for so long. I think you should definitely still look into in. I know it might be difficult for you to get diagnosed but I did get some validation/relief from my research on ADHD. A lot of it felt like my feelings and experiences in words. There's so much research and forums to read!
