Congrats on the engagement! I got married this year in the spring and did my own makeup. Your makeup came out beautiful here! Here are some of my tips and hope you find them helpful🤍 -practice practice practice your look and experiment as well. I used tiktok to track each different makeup look I did. -Wear a white shirt whenever practicing to help get the full effect ✨ -i HIGHLY recommend using individual cluster lashes. it came out absolutely beautiful and not too dramatic. very comfortable to wear and I used the Velour natural lash clusters. They’re a little expensive but definitely worth it. -I have combo oily skin and mixed the haus labs and my l’oréal infallible long wear foundation for a natural yet long lasting makeup look. I’m telling you my makeup lasted all day and didn’t need to touch up. -I would recommend the CT setting spray for a glowy look or the One size setting spray. -I used the Makeup by mario ethereal eyes palette and loved how my eyeshadow came out and used the glitter topper from that palette. If you have something similar in your collection I don’t think you have to buy it. -i also recommend the hourglass concealer, it’s high coverage and little goes a long way. they also sell minis. I loved how my makeup came out in person, I did a soft glam look. However, when I looked at pictures I wish I did my eyeshadow a little bit darker since it looks very natural in photos. Honestly, I think it depends on preference. LOVE the smokey eyeliner. I got the makeup by mario pencil in the perfect brown and layered a dark brown eyeshadow. Hope this helps! definitely take lots of photos with flash up close and far away - you could be washed out depending on the lighting and may want more bronzer/blush!!

I would say yes to the lashes. I’m the same as you when it comes to lashes. I did my makeup for my sister’s wedding (I was a bridesmaid) & used the onlyall lashes from Amazon. They were recommended by a makeup artist & honestly forgot I even had them on bc they were so comfortable!

i also did a half lash for my wedding! i rarely wear lashes too, but they were so lightweight and so natural looking! i used the falscara bond & cut the lashes in half so they weren’t so dramatic. 🤍

Yes, individuals are the way to go! I’ve been loving the kiss impression press on individual clusters, once you get the hang of them they’re actually really comfortable. And we have a similar hair texture, I would do natural texture in a loose French twist, if you use a clip or French hair pins it won’t crease the hair weird and you can take it down without it being crunchy as long as you don’t over spray it or use a super strong hairspray. I like bumble & bumble spray de mode.

I’m so happy for you! Getting married is really such a unique and fun experience 🤍 I was a bit indecisive for my hair and makeup because I wanted something natural that would still look good in photos. For my hair I initially wanted to have an up-do for the ceremony (because of the neckline just like you ☺️) and then take it down for the reception but I ended up having the up-do throughout the whole event becauseI I felt more put together - it was a very windy and humid day and I didn’t want to worry about my hair. For the make-up, I wanted something bronzed and classy and I ended up doing something like Allana Davison’s bridal make-up look for the base and Sophia Richie’s for the eyes. For the lashes my recommendation would be to try this combo: lamination + Lancôme Lash Idôle waterproof mascara + individual lashes - the final look is really nice and it really looks like your natural lashes but better and you won’t feel uncomfy! Also, if you’re trying different looks, do face charts!! They are underrated but I found them so useful to keep track of the products I was actually trying and they were actually fun to do!!! My final piece of advice would be: don’t put too much pressure on yourself to look your very best, you are gorgeous already! As long as you feel comfortable and confident in your dress/hair/makeup, you focus on each other, and allow yourself to be fully present in each moment, trust me, it will all shine through and you’ll look amazing 🤍✨

I recently got my makeup done by a professional for a wedding I was in and she used super light weight half lashes on me. I was so nervous because I didn't want to feel them all day and night. But they were great! Maybe reach out to wedding makeup artist for recommendations!

I totally get what you mean by full coverage makeup not feeling like you. As a fellow 2025 bride I have just upgraded my base makeup after 6 years 😬. I’ve been loving the makeup by Mario concealer and the Danessa Myrick blurring balm as well as my all time favourite L.A girl concealer. Lightweight but great coverage for my combination skin. Honestly I feel like I always like my base better when I don’t wear foundation 🤷🏾‍♀️

Clean you makeup and tools is so important! Clorox wipes, alcohol,paper towels and cutips are your friend! I love keeping my makeup clean! I accumulated so much makeup during my exploratory faze. I do love/ appreciate variety. However, the amount of money, time, over consumption, environmental, and health factors is a bit much. I’m doing my best not to over-consume. I really try to be more intentional.
