Hi Beauties…. Welcome to my Channel!
In this video I am back again with another Silozi language. This time around I caught Mwii Sezuni by surprise. It was so much fun speaking My language Silozi. I enjoyed filming this video in Silozi language. Please feel free to correct my silozi in the comment section. Also please assist me with the Silozi words that I used in English. I want my SIlozi to really be strong.
According to Wiki:
Lozi, also known as siLozi and Rozi, is a Bantu language of the Niger-Congo language family within the Sotho-Tswana branch of Zone S (S.30), that is spoken by the Lozi people, primarily in southwestern Zambia and in surrounding countries. This language is most closely related to Northern Sotho (Sesotho sa Leboa), Tswana (Setswana), Kgalagari (SheKgalagari) and Sotho (Sesotho/Southern Sotho). Lozi and its dialects are spoken and understood by approximately six percent of the population of Zambia. Silozi is the endonym (the name of the language used by its native speakers) as defined by the United Nations. Lozi is the exonym.
The Lozi language developed from a mixture of two languages: Luyana and Kololo. The Luyana people originally migrated south from the Kingdom of Luba and Kingdom of Lunda in the Katanga area of the Congo River basin, either late in the 17th century or early in the 18th century. The language they spoke, therefore, was closely related to Luba and Lunda. They settled on the floodplains of the upper Zambezi in what is now western Zambia and developed a kingdom, Barotseland, and also gave their name to the Barotse Floodplain or Bulozi.
The Kololo were a Sotho people who used to live in what is now the Free State province of South Africa. The Kololo were forced to flee from Shaka Zulu's Mfecane during the 1830s. Using tactics they had copied from the Zulu armies, the Kololo conquered the Luyana on the Zambezi floodplains and imposed their rule and language. However, by 1864 the indigenous population revolted and overthrew the Kololo. By that time, the Luyana language had been largely forgotten; the new hybrid language is called Lozi or Silozi and is closer to Sesotho than to any other neighbouring languages in Zambia.
Lozi is also spoken in Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Namibia (Zambezi Region).

As Mosotho I can say the one in Red has the accent on point. The one in black can also speak Silozi. She has the vocabulary but the accent is not there yet. But she knows Silozi💯 Btw in South Africa(Basotho) we call your language Serotse and we call you Barotse. You are our kinfolk. You are speaking Sesotho with a few phonetic differences like ts* becoming z*, r* becoming l* and tl* becoming t* and other few changes. Otherwise Silozi is Sesotho💯

The problem is the government does official recognise Sepulana as a language rather as a dialect which is not accurate as we our own kingdom and our language is distinctively different just like Kelobedu. @@mash288 but you must understand there is more than 11 languages in SA they just didn't want them to be a lot instead they put grouped languages that are alike into one group just so they cannot be a lot each culture would have power and there would be so much going on e.g education wise there would have to be so many books of different dialects as long as you know what you are individually I think you can keep it that way. Also you must know Pedi is a dialect the actual term for all languages in Limpopo is Northen Sotho with different dialects Northen Sotho covers all the spoken languages spoken in Limpopo including Lobedu that include Sotho/Tswana words apart from Tsonga and Venda, all of this languages related to Sotho and Tswana in today's term are called Sotho-Tswana it doesn't matter how you pronounce and all that the Nguni people are Ngunis because of relation in their languages so is Sotho- Tswana

Balozi(barotse) are children of Basotho. Bapedi le Basotho are children of Batswana,in other words these four groups are one people who split and intermingled with other groups where influence of culture and language came in. The secret is in Linguistics. Pay attention how the Lozi are speaking Sesotho mixed with other Languages. Basotho adopted the clicks and other words from ngunis when they intermingled with them. The clicks which are said to have been adopted from the Khoisan people. Hence Sothos speak Setswana mixed with Nguni while the Lozi mixes Sesotho with another Language, pay attention to how they don't have clicks like the Sothos. Bapedi are influenced by Tshivenda although Tshivenda is similar to Setswana there are just a few words which are a bit different like dakala one of the words the bapedi adopted Thakgala which means Happy. But the roots of all these Languages(Basotho, bapedi, balozi) is Setswana which is an original peculiar language. Some Sothos are in denial that their roots is in Setswana, there are Zulus and Xhosas among the Sothos which altogether were established as Basotho by King Moshoeshoe.

Setswana - Western Sotho Sepedi - Northern Sotho Sepulana - Eastern Sotho Sesotho (Seshoeshoe) - Southern Sotho Only if you told us where all these sothos started, we'd understand. Your history is utterly vague and incorrect. You are indirectly saying that Boroka is from Barolong, Balobedu from Bapulana, Batlokwa from Bakone, how? Your history noooo!

@@ragram3950 bapedi ke bakgatlha cluster of batswana sekhukhuni which is his real name is from botswana him and Mmalebogo even Mashabela they come from sestswana speaking kgatlhas,Basotho ke bakwena cluster mostly and bafokeng of batswana they migrated to Free state and Lesotho way before mfecani wars bakoena and bafokeng became neighbors. Later during mfecani wars the ngunis who were running away from tshaka zulu they found these setswana speaking groups there and xhosas started calling them abesuthu (people of the mountains) because they found them living in the mountains, that's where the name Basotho derives from. Anyway they joined those people and took shelter under moshoeshoe who is believe to be a hlubi himself. during that time some batswana monarchies also ran to Lesotho like barolong and chief mogale and his bakoena and others up to this day they're still in Lesotho and in the late 1800s Moshoeshoe established those batswana and those ngunis collectively as Basotho the term basotho is a new term of the 1800s so it's a falsehood that we're called Basotho before Mfecani wars and Moshoeshoe there was no such thing as Basotho or a place called lesotho. Balobedu are not bapedi they are kalangas who originate from Zimbabwe and got mixed with balozi and Vhavenda can't you hear how they speak? They are just a subgroup of bapedi because selobedu is not an official language in South Africa. So when we talk about bapedi we're talking about a totally different group that came from batswana that's why I'm saying intermixing influenced language dynamics.

@ragram3950 THANK YOU! I disagreed with him on another video where he was saying the same thing. I posted a Botswana History website extract where they were saying the Basotho's are their ancestors. How do you explain the south, north, eastern 'sotho' if it's a new language that was named by the Nguni's nogal....hayi ngeke!

@@ferdykeyz4583Papa you need to stop this wrong narrative....The Basotho's are not the descendents of Batswana...Please research some more.
