Thank you for the good demo! When I mark where I am going to cut with a marker, I use chapstix to cover my lines so the water doesn't wash it off before you get to the end, I use black or silver permanent markers.

Thanks, thinking about purchasing a ring saw, just trying to research best for me.

They come in handy but l still like to improve my cutting skills and not totally rely on the ring saw, it’s wise to do research before purchasing. It also depends on how often you will be using the ring saw and what you will be cutting. Check out my other KZbin video where l compare both brands. Thanks for watching. 😊

Hi Peter, can a full cup be placed in front of the blade to cut it exactly in half so that both sides can be used? Thank you.
@TreasuryRoad25 күн бұрын
Hi Connie, it depends on the size of the cup but generally no the height isn't there. Here's a link to a video I made that gives you the measurements and does a comparison between the Gryphon and the Taurus. For cutting cups I would have a look at a wet saw. Thanks for watching. :)

Thanks Peter. Is there an adjustment for controlling the amount of water that comes out on the glass? It seems to be a lot of excess water. Could you tell me the maximum thickness it can cut.
@TreasuryRoad7 ай бұрын
My pleasure Dee. If you go to the 16.00 time mark in the video I discuss the water volume. I'm not sure what the maximum thickness is for cutting, it does cut other thicker materials but that's a good question and I haven't been able to find the answer, I have emailed Gryphon and will let you know if they get back to me, fingers crossed. Thanks for watching and for your comment. :)
@TreasuryRoad7 ай бұрын
Dee I have just heard back from Gryphon the max thickness is 1.5 inches. :)

Where do you buy the tool kit you show opening the box?

Thats just a safety knife I bought at the hardware store, readily available and there is a different range of them and sizes. Thanks for watching. :)

Thank you for another great video! I am curious about the actual blades.Is the one you used round to go in all directions? I understand the separating blade, but does Gryphon have other blades for different thickness of tiles?
@TreasuryRoad8 ай бұрын
The Gryphon ring saw comes with the blade that can cut in all directions here in Australia. There are other blades available and you would need to check out the Gryphon Corporation website to see if they would suit your needs. Thanks for watching and for your comment. :)

Its so funny you made this video. I have had this machine in my Amazon cart for days now. Seriously considering buying it, i just get nervous with big purchases especially in these economic times. Its $405 on Amazon.

Does it work just as well on ceramic tile?
@TreasuryRoad8 ай бұрын
The ceramic tile I tried worked well but if you are just going to cut lines and not intricate shapes, l would just use a wet saw. It would be quicker and cheaper especially in replacement parts. Thanks for watching. 😊

Do you think this can be used to cut teacups in half? Wonderful, informative video! Thank you!!
@TreasuryRoad8 ай бұрын
No Deni, there isn't enough distance to get the cup under the cutting arm. Perhaps using the saw cutting unit as a handheld may work but you would be better off with a wet saw. I know a person that uses a Dremel to cut cups in half but a wet saw will be easier and quicker and not near as expensive. Thanks for watching and for your comment. :)
@DenGio558 ай бұрын
@@TreasuryRoad thanks so much Peter! I have cut many teacups with my dremel but it always makes me nervous. The ring saw looks so easy…and safe. I’ve not seen a wet saw yet but will check it out. Thanks so much for responding.

I live in the US and noticed the plug was different. Do they have saws with the plug that fit in US electrical outlets?
@TreasuryRoad8 ай бұрын
The plug and electrical voltages are different from Australia and the USA. The USA I think is 120 volt while Australia is 220 - 240 volt. You can purchase the Gryphon Ring Saw in the the USA with the correct voltage and plug, Gryphon is based in the USA, just have a look on the net for your nearest retailer. Thanks for watching and for your comment. :)

Is it much different than the Taurus 3 Ring saw? I’ve never understood the difference. Thank you so much for the demonstration , I’ve never seen it in use 🤩

There is a difference between the two but generally they both do the same thing. Kind of like cars really they are different but essentially get you from point A to B. Thankyou for watching and for the comment as well. :)

Do you think you could cut more than one piece of glass at a time? Ie stacking two or three or 4 pieces and cutting them all at once?
@TreasuryRoad8 ай бұрын
A good question and I cannot see why not but you may find they may turn out slightly different due the the blade not being totally vertical. Thanks for watching. :)
