I'm from upper caste... And my opinion is if India want to develop like China , amrica where not only country's GDP but GDP per capita income also increases. Then it is must that India must want सब का साथ सब का विकास For this it is mandatory that both caste based reservation and caste system should abolish India for always.. everyone should have only one identity that is Country's Proud Citizen that's it. Well documented. You did not mention Sri Ramakrishna, Maa Sarada, Vivekananda's role against the caste system. Ramakrishna Mission and Bharat Sevashram Sangha' s role also got ignored. You also should have mentioned the states and the regions where castism is still very dominant. Special status that has been given to north-east states must have been mentioned. Myself being a Brahmin, I follow Sri Ramakrishna, Maa Sarada and Vivekananda's path and salute Dr. Ambedkar. There are of course certain negative aspects in reservation system as it has developed a specially privileged class whereas many higher caste people in low economic category are being deprived of opportunities.

Hedgewar’s logic was that it would cause immense pain to Gaidhani. He went on to add, “and what benefit will we get out of it? On the contrary, if he sits separately for the meals that [action of his] will leave a far better impression on Gaidhaniji. Our swayamsevak may feel a bit hurt but in the view of our work this much pain should be tolerated. First we should win him with our love then these differences will disappear.”[vii] It is a well-known fact that Hedgewar discouraged any attempt for community lunches (sah-bhoj) inclusive of all Castes of Hindus which were being organized by a section of reformist Hindus in order to abolish the practice of Untouchability.[. …………………………………………………………………….

Casteism is a British term. The hindi version is Varna Vyavastha and it is the first system in which society is classified on the basis of occupation. It was started to make society progress as the skills can be passed to generations. A kshatriya would always be their to protect people from enemies as it was his duty. A potter or iron smith whose family has been involved in creating products would only increase the value of product as they would know better than anyone about what to do and what not. Besides being a Brahmin according to Shastra is most difficult as you can't own lands , you can't take salary, you can't own titles and harvests, you can't have a job. All you can do for livelihood is to teach students and do holy rituals for other people. No other caste was forced such constraints. Although it did turned wrong later as untouchability was a reality. The ill practice is being used by many to shun hindu religion and many idiots from our religion have started joining them.
