Found one almost two years ago in the discount section of a random watch store, had to buy it, awesome watch. Pain to initially set it up, but once you understand the thing it's pretty intuitive.

I finally replaced the battery after like 13 years of ownership. I have the early GW 3000 bb1A model, black and lume/white color combo. The battery was 15 bucks on eBay and also my Harbor Freight Precision screwdriver set worked for the job

I have not seen that model either, and I am a Gshock fan, and I think there are so many models of them that there is one or more for just about anyone. I have some of the smaller ones but love the value for the functions it can do as well as it can take abuse and not worry about it.

I looked at these when they were released but any G-shock without a light is not a real G-shock for me. I love the Auto EL in certain situations. Wearing the Mudmaster GG-B100-1A you reviewed earlier and it' a great G-shock.

Its a killa piece. I had the Black with Orange dial and the SS case with orange strap. This one is the only one I have left.

So this watch indeed has a mineral crystal but its AR coated, that's probably what your seeing. Great review as always.

I have the black with orange dial variant. Wore it daily for 3 years on my 6.5 inch wrist. it wears comfortably but its not at all cuff friendly. I eventually got tired of the thickness and now it lives in the watchbox. Great watch though. (the lume isn't great)

I had this in orange on a resin strap, it worked great until i was doing field training and we had a lightning storm extremely close. Ever since then everytime it synchronizes with fort collins it would set the watch 30min too fast. I tried reseting it, i even did hand adjustment to try and Compensate but every night at midnight it would go 30min fast. I sent it to the service center in CA and they fixed it then a month and a half later it did it again. I just had to throw it away its a difficult watch to set since it does not have a lcd screen and its hold this button for 2 secs and then this one for 5secs. Its really the only G-SHOCK I would never rebuy or recommend.

I don't think fighter pilots go much over 5 or 6G, but I could be wrong. F1 drivers sometimes pull over 20G in a crash though, so no good there, lol. It's pretty watch, it would match nicely with my 5610BA from the black x blue series. Case shape and size seems very similar to my Protrek from that same period btw.

Most fighter jets are rated to 9ish G. Some aerobatic planes might go over that.
