I think I have every color of the acrysion cause the store near me sells the line so it's convenient. They airbrush great and brush great. I use the same thinner that you are using . I like them pretty smooth and don't stink .

Thanks for sharing your experience. I have the German armor set and the thinner that I got from USA Gundam store but I haven't used them yet.

+TacticalJackalope Interested to hear your thoughts on it. I'm going to try to airbrush it on the next go around.

I've always wondered how these were in general and how they would compare to tamiya acrylics. Now that I've seen what they can do, gotta go buy a pack! Thanks for the demo!

Hi thank you for the review. Is it a must to dilute the paint before applying the paint? Can I straight away apply it?

Please posting more videos about Acrysion painting, especially for a real model kit aircraft, it's so interesting

About how long did you wait in between coats? Did you have to re mix the paints in the tray for each batch or just add thinner to activate them if they dried in the tray?
@thechannel63638 жыл бұрын
+Saki Dickerson I allowed at least 4-5 hours between coats. I only mixed what I need in the tray for each coat. I don't think it reactivates like their Mr. Color lacquer paint does.

Err I hope you still check your channel from time to time coz there seem to be so few youtubers I can ask about this paint. I've been using the paint for a while but I cant get the same results as you. I've had a hard time managing the formation of bubbles. I've also experienced that the colors separate into basic colors when thinned. So after I've painted them, darker or lighter streaks appear. Any advice you can give?
@thechannel63635 жыл бұрын
I still check my channel! I recall bubbles as well. I tapped them a bit with the brush or just let them settle on their own. Are you using the GSI Acrysion thinner? Thin, even coats, thinned about 30-40% would work. Let dry for several or more hours between coats is the trick.

I'm not sure if its the paints that are good or if it's all just you lol. That seriously looks great, if you said it was airbrushed I wouldn't think twice. Have you experimented with these paints thinning with water instead of the solvent thinner? Do you find them to be scratch resistant?
@thechannel63638 жыл бұрын
+A Cyber Newtype It is fairly scratch resistant... not bad. I haven't tried water. The benefit of the thinner (which really has no odor) is that is has wetting agent properties reducing surface tension and allowing for even paint flow as you brush on. Water might be more difficult to use as it is on bare plastic.

Wow! I haven't seen any Acrysion paint sets like that. I think a 50/50 mix is a bit too much. I'd only add about 20% thinner at most, and multiple layers wouldn't be necessary. With a primer coating, at least, I'd say about 2 coats. My daughter painted her resin frog that came with a set of Acrysion paints. With two coats, the frog looks pretty fantastic.

+stevethefishdotnet I think you're correct. As I was going through the process I thought of going with less thinner, then maybe the drying time would be faster. But I decided to stick with it for the experiment. I'm going grab a bottle of the airbrush thinner and paint a Hasegawa Zero next.
@stevethefishdotnet8 жыл бұрын
The Channel So you hand painted this whole model and not just the underside, right? That finish is fantastic.
@thechannel63638 жыл бұрын
+stevethefishdotnet Yes, the whole model is hand painted... the top surface, the underside, and the cockpit. The only part I airbrushed was the engine cowling in Tamiya semi-gloss black.

The Channel That's fantastic. I've shared this video on a G+ modeling group I'm on and they're impressed.

can we use it without the solvent? abit curious since i just got mine. It is flat white
@thechannel63636 жыл бұрын
You can try thinning with water. It should thin OK. But painting on bare plastic might be a challenge using water.
@plasticsoul77174 жыл бұрын
That's some nice finish , how's durability of paint ? So ratio would be 50/50 ?
@thechannel63633 жыл бұрын
Durability is good... I'd say as good as or maybe a bit more durable than the Tamiya Acrylics or similar. Ratio can be 50/50... or maybe up to 70% paint 30% thinner.

does it recommended if i want to paint some resin statue with it? i'm kinda new at modeling world.
@thechannel63637 жыл бұрын
For resin, It's best to spray a layer of primer paint first before you do any painting. Then the acrysion paint can easily be applied over the primer. That goes for any resin models, resin needs a primer first... no matter what kind of paint you use.
@MrNdruu7 жыл бұрын
i see, thank you very much! and it's a very nice video paint by the way XD
@uglitor3 жыл бұрын
So basically just stick to Vallejo and/or Mig/AK acrylics if you already have them.
@thechannel63633 жыл бұрын
I haven't used either of those so I can't comment on if they are better or worse than the GSI Acrysion. Do the test yourself and see.
@uvafan9405 жыл бұрын
After trying Acrysion, I certainly hope GSI Creos does not quit making Mr Hobby Aqueous for this stuff. Aqueous is the best paint for airbrushing apart from the lacquers like Mr Color/MRP. I use it so as not to smell the lacquers. But Acrysion did not impress me none. Model Master is the better brush paint.
@thechannel63635 жыл бұрын
Acrysion is not meant to replace Aqueous pant... it's meant to be a low toxic water based paint primarily used for brush painting. I thought it was impressive in that aspect. Model Master paints are enamels and are probably the best for brush painting. But enamels are oil/solvent based and are difficult to use and clean up.
@uvafan9405 жыл бұрын
@@thechannel6363 Model Master Acryl not Enamel. But Aqueous is getting harder to come by, and it seems they have halted production on the H300 and 400 range of paints, so as I said, I hope this does not eventually become a replacement, as it is no match imo.
@clement1935 жыл бұрын
@@uvafan940 i think its still a pretty good paint for brush. I can agree that without a primer its a turd, but when primed slight dustily it can achieves a brilliant finish.
@GurtMcDirt4 жыл бұрын
I see there is an airbrush specific thinner for Acrysion. Have you tried it out and does it preform any better than the standard Acrysion thinner? From research, it seems like it’s just supposed to dry a bit faster.
@michaelweiss78803 жыл бұрын
I heard they are discontinuing this paint and they re-formulated the aqueous. This is what my local shop told me . He seemed to phase all the acrysion out and has the new aqueous line now. That's what the owner told me idk?
