🎹 Wagner's art is so overwhelming that it dissolves the critical faculty when you attend any performance. You are just so grateful to be there and hear that Gorgeous Shower of sound rain down all Over You.

What a bunch of bullshit. There are bad performances of Wagner that insult both the listener and the composer. There are so many absolutely absurd stagings of the operas of Wagner, particularly the Ring; that finding one that is even halfway sensible is like finding heaven. Frankly this looks rather like a visual parody which should be being sung by Anna Russell. The voices are barely able to handle the music and what is washing here is dumbing down of Wagner. In addition the set looks like something a bunch of sixth graders cut out during their art class. This is simply an example of the pathetic state of opera today.

@@WilsonWatt-q2e I'm not enamoured of the rather harsh singing, costumes or set here either, but if only perfect productions of The Ring could be countenanced, who would ever have the chance to see them and at what degree of expense?

La voix de Wotan me semble un peu légère !!! Pour ce rôle ,il faut plutôt un baryton - basse ! Ceci étant dit , musique sublime !!! Tempo lent , ce qui est parfait !

If you dont know enough about opera, you better close your mouth! Stuttgart is one of the best Opera houses in europe. Go to the met and watch „ Die Walküre“ there. I am sure you will Not hear any difference, cause you dont know nothing about music. Good evening😉

The Brünnhilde here also sings Erda… So after many years of mezzo-contralto roles she became a soprano? No just today’s confusing business called operasinging… #IGNORANCE

It happened for Grace Bumbry...who started out as a Contralto in her very early years (17 yrs old) and moving up the ranks..but everyone isn't her... Here, this opera staging and singing is just absurd I would agree....

Another situation of painting a moustache on the Mona Lisa. Costumes are idiotic; Sieglinde is dressed like a kitchen worker in a soviet orphanage. Did Wagner specify that the sword was supposed to be made out of yellow plastic? (No wonder it broke.) Wotan's staff looks like the sticks we used to find in the woods to play army with. How many treaties are carved in it? 1? 2? Grow up.
