hello Scott, glad to see you back online with a new video let me add a few details or things I don't ''fully agree'' with you : - first of all, as an Italian, I felt the need to mention the Viscount Legend One, a stage style keyboard, very interesting for that kind of users, announced just before Namm 2025 ( as a competitor between Nord Electro/Stage, Yamaha YC/CK, Roland new V-Stage ), since it didn't make it to your list - about the Roland V-Stage, it seems that the 3 engines ( v-piano, tone-wheel, and EP supernatural pianos ) have new programmable possibilities that are not yet possible for Fantom users ( I don't think they will update Fantom to this, to keep the two products separate, since Fantom is more synth related ) - about the Kord Multi/Poly, the version with 37 keyboard has a new keyboard, not the same as the previous models ( modwave, wavestate, opsix ), but I i have seen videos showing that the internal components reach near the full use with not so big 4 layer patches, so i would consider the vst than the hardware version ( in order to expand these ''limits'' using the internal components of your pc, and not the internal ones of the hardware version ) - regarding Korg Kronos ''3'', i totally agree with you, for what they offer as an upgrade compared to a full new model, who cares

An element of the Kronos 3 announcement that is pretty cool is that they are bringing the updates and new sounds to original Kronos 1/X/2 users. Pretty rare to see updates for a once-discontinued 14-year-old flagship.

Thanks Scott. Your review of NAMM 25 cuts through the sales hype and informs us with deep knowledge and experience from your own gear and time invested. It keeps me up to date with the new gear as i sit here in the heat in Australia. And yes i see Donner stuff on Amazon and i think they have some interesting new approaches to synth gear .. as you say, a brand to keep an eye on.. all the best. Thanks for your efforts.

The lower front-facing controls on the Korg 700 were so they could be easily reached and seen by the player who placed the instrument *on top of* an organ. These were originally marketed as essentially accessories for organ players. The layout makes sense if you are sitting at your B-3 with the Korg on top. The Yamaha DX-1 was produced by hand to the tune of 140 total units and IIRC in 1983 you could pick one up (or perhaps Yamaha would build one for you if you were important enough) for about $14,000.00 (DX-7 was $1,999.99). Besides two DX-7 engines it had a 73-key weighted hammer action keybed with PAT, was easier to program from the front panel and it was perfectly sized to fit on top of your CP-70 electric grand piano (which of course you also had) - assuming you were strong enough to lift it up there. The MIDI spec was just as bad as the DX-7. Few surviving instruments still have fully functional PAT and if it ain't workin' you can't fix it. Parts are obsolete.

The Kronos 3 is for existing users mostly that is concerned about their existing Kronos as there is no other way of getting a Kronos 2 repaired than to scalp another Kronos 2 if the Mobo or cpu fails, you can't get replacement hardware anymore. So it's reduced to an expensive but effective door stopper just like the Prophet-X

The V-Stage is for people who don't want to deal with the complexities of a full-fledged workstation, but they still want high-quality sounds and enough flexibility for stage use without getting bogged down in endless menus. There is a lot of players like that, thus the popularity of the Nord Stage and other "stage" keyboards. These keyboards don't have the best feature/price ratio, but that's not the point.
