Don't forget that Malaysians who pay zakat will get tax rebates. The greater the amount of zakat paid, the less the amount of tax payable. If the amount of zakat is equal or exceeds the tax payable, then one does not have to pay the income tax that means the zakat rebate reduces the tax collected by the country.

if not mistaken, there is an amount limit for zakat payment to offset income tax.

Zakat just for 2.5% of the income. remaining income till 24% still need to pay income tax.
Why care about transfer pricing ? Implement GST. Making things complicated. So al level pay GST. Then? How money is handled ? How much the majority Malaysian can benefit from it. You living in KL? Try visit more outskirts area. I don’t think, What we need now is more money for country. More money cannot handle efficiently. Worst…

90% of income tax come from the Chinese doesn’t mean that the Chinese make more than the Malays. Malays who pay for Zakat are exempted from paying income tax. Most Malays pay Zakat instead of income tax.

Haha do you know how much zakat are collected every year. So far their updated records are till 2020 and the annual zakat collected is rm 756 million. Do you know how much money the government collected for direct tax every year? In 2021 its rm 42.5 billion. You know the chinese only accounted to 22.4% of Malaysia population? That means this 22.4% people are basically funding the 90% of malaysia direct tax revenue every year. Thats more than rm 38 billion. Thats why Malaysia can't become a developed country.

@@chongyen7923 that’s why the old man keeps saying Chinese are rich up until today, and therefore Malaysian gov should subsidise the Malays more.

Haha funny? There’s difference between tax evasion and tax avoidance. The normal people just want to live their life simple. I have been in era of GST. GST add on so much work to micro and SME that doesn’t hire accountant in their company. Not all micro and SME hire professional accountant. Not all business able to…. One of the fewer winner in GST definitely is accounting firm….. Many micro & SME have no choice that have to hire them to do their GST thing. you think ? It’s cheap to hire them? To buy the GST POS system and maintain it ? PS; I don’t think the money is handled efficiently in the past… look at HSR, 1MBD case, flooding. So many problem etc… So much other thing to focus.

@@hengmingha1949 hmm I do agree with you on creating opportunities. We might get some benefit from it. But maybe just peanut of it. If we are honest with ourselves… there’s really a lot of other thing as a country we can focus. There’s many other ways to help to create opportunities for our students. Why taking back something we have given up… how much benefit will flow to b40 and m40.. I don’t think the problem is we don’t have enough money… Malaysia do have enough money.. the problem is how we handled the money.. do we handled it efficiently ? This is absolutely nonsense. Name me your source and where you get this ridiculous numbers? If you don’t know anything about Zakat, just don’t spread lies. Zakat is an obligation that a Muslim has to donate a certain proportion of wealth each year to charitable which account minimum of 2.5% of their annual salary. Some of us paid more than that. And on top of the Zakat paid, they also need to pay the annual income tax. The government coffers you think only from one race meh? Petronas contributed upto RM60billion of government coffers where 75% of them were Malay employee. If you continue to bickering about race, there will be no end to it. Living in Malaysia is about sharing values and prosperity. The economic pie of this country remains controlled by the Chinese whereby they make up almost 70%. We don’t want what happen Malaysia end up like Germany in 1940s where the rich Jews control the economy and lead to enmity and disaster of war. That is what happen to a country when there is economic gap. You must know to give and take when live in this country.

@@shazminbahari32 it's all shown in pungutan zakat website. You can check Malaysia gross national income as well and see how much zakat being collected. We know what zakat is but the truth is the truth and I have stated nothing but the truth. I am even happier if all people in Malaysia will contribute more to the country regardless of the races. Also, since you brought up Petronas, you know that the revenue generated by Petronas is based on oil and gas right, so who do these oil and gas commodities belongs to? It belongs to the whole Malaysia and not just the Malays. So I'm not bringing any racial issues here. I'm just saying Malaysia need more contribution from all the races and not just largely from the Chinese. BAlso, oil and gas accounted less than 10% of Malaysia GDP. Most of the Malaysia GDP is contributed from the manufacturing and service sectors.
But, by gst only able to help promote our country's stable economic growth and create job opportunities. In case of economic disaster, only gst capable to save Malaysia from Bankruptcy, because sst shall be badly affected when economic crisis & non-profits ceased business
