That frame came up really nicely! That’s a benefit of long term oil leaks, preserves metal under the filth! Great work mate 👍🏻

Thank you! Yes, a bit of cleaning at the moment on various parts, as well as waiting for spare parts to come. And, oh man...I'd love to have even just a tiny part of your skills when it will all come down to painting the fairings! Impressive work!!! Well done!!

As many times as I've had mine apart over the last couple years, I must say I was surprised to learn a few things . I can take this bike apart with my eyes closed and putting it back together isn't so bad. Now even easier in a few key areas. Thank you for making this video.

What did you use to clean the frame? Just degreaser? I have oxidation on mine from long term storage. Any recommendations on taking off oxidation. Thanks. Great videos
@ChrisSofos Жыл бұрын
Hi there. Thanks for your comment. Yes, just degreaser and then soapy water to finish it off. There's not much you can do for the oxidation, but scrub the oxidised area with a scuffing pad. That way, it'll smooth out the surface, and it'll look better.

Just started watching your videos on the gsxr. That frame looks very clean now, what cleaning products did you use to bring it back to showroom finish. Keep up the good work 👍

Thanks for your comment! At first, I used a simple degreaser spray and a brush to remove heavy dirt. Then I used hot water, in which I diluted dishwasher liquid along with washing machine powder, and I used a sponge to wash off the remaining dirt. Finally I rinsed it with clean water and that was it!

Great job. What engine cleaner do you use?
@ChrisSofos10 ай бұрын
Thank you! Just a plain degreaser, which I had to scrab a lot with a brush.

Next time engine has to come out, remove everything from frame first and then lay it down on the side. You can then just lift the frame from the engine. Much easier..
@ChrisSofos Жыл бұрын
Yep, I realized that after it was all done 😅 This is how it's going to come on the frame. I'll literally put the frame on the engine.
