Great videos man, Excursion came out looking fantastic, doing my 2001 Excursion now, but keeping the 7.3 in it... but sure glad I ran into your video, you did all the leg work for me, as far as finding all the needed parts. Will keep watching to see what you do next!!!

Great Job, I would be very proud of that build too. Thanks for taking the time to record all the steps you had to take in addition to what was detailed with the conversion kit. It will help me a lot when I go to do mine.

It's one of my dreams to build two of these. One to give away to someone and one to donate to my local sheriff's office as a SICK patrol vehicle. We'll see if I ever get there...

I just spent 4th of July weekend installing my kit on my 2005 excursion. I kept looking at the mcnasty video back and forth. Wish I would’ve seen your video before hand. Fighting the fenders alittle for adjustment but I notice you left the plastic wheel wells off while adjusting fenders. Makes the truck look a whole lot better and plan on doing the rear quarter conversion also. Just drove to the gas station and already head some head turners. Took me all weekend since I was dealing with 112 degree Arizona weather. Will pull wheel wells off and try adjusting fenders that way. Thanks for all the info!
@GSXR1000Rob2 жыл бұрын
The fender liners are the worst part! Yeah, I took the liners off to help adjust the fenders but then couldn’t get the liners back on without loosening the fenders again! Haha! I’m impressive that you knock it out over the holiday weekend.
@panchovilla26992 жыл бұрын
@@GSXR1000Rob yes I kept trying to push the fender up to the body line but the liners kept pushing me downward and outward. Might end up trimming them alittle. Once that hood closed I was done for the weekend! I’ll tackle it again during the week or next weekend but at least now all the modifications are done just a matter of aligning. Thanks for the response!

Front end looks great, I too have had an 11-16 cowel induction hood, Mcnasty, wiper cowels, and planning to collect all the rest of the parts and do the same front end conversion on my black excursion! Also planing to get the Morimoto headlights! Really appreciate this video, you really cover the details in a real common sense approach and I really need to know what I need to order parts wise to have all the parts before starting… Best job hands down on the internet for this front end conversion and I have saw them all!!

Are you thinking about a roof rack? Seen one at the Overlander Exop. in Flagstaff AZ. last month that looked awesome, think it also came out in the magazine OFF Grid.., but it could hold up to 1200 lbs. and it also had a place for 2 ladders, one in the front and one in the back.

Very well done vid. Admire the hard work. My Excursion is very near and dear to me and my family as well. However, i have a 2001 Excursion Limited with 6.8L V10. I know the 7.3 is the King of Excursions, but it was too hard to find wen i was looking for one. But my V10 runs like'a Georgia-Peach. I dont ever wanna get rid of it. Question: Do you hav any idea if the front-end conversion (including the Vijay bumpers) would work on my 2001? I saw all the tweeking u needed to do, so i know none of this is easy drop-in stuff, i just dont know if there are any really broad differences between our Excursions. Its nice to know that some of your parts vendors offer Military discounts. I'm an ol'Army guy myself. Thnx 👍

I’m not 100% sure but I do t think there are many differences between our trucks. At least as far as the body and frame goes. I think it go on just as mine did. Good luck on your truck! They are getting harder to find every day.

How is the new engine running for you? Compared to the original motor what is your take away now that you have driven with the new motor? I am curious. I have an 07 F350 DRW and love watching the transformation on your excursion. Great job. One other question do you plan on converting the front leaf spring set up to the spring and shocks of the 05-16 Super Duty Trucks?
@GSXR1000Rob2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Taylor! Over 5k miles, new engine running flawless. I should make another driving impressions video. Just driving around town you might not notice a big difference between the stock motor and the new KDD, except the new engine seems to have a little less vibration (this might be in my head). The new KDD engine just seems to accelerate effortlessly when you give it 40-50% throttle. There might be slightly more turbo lag than stock. But when you get on it and the turbo lights up, its a completely different animal. Its absolutely violent. I need to get some reaction videos when I take people for a ride. And yes, front coil spring conversion is in the plans!

Did you use your stock inner fender wells? Mine are very rigid and I was told to use one from an earlier model because they are softer and easier to fit.

There is a video step by step mcnasty customs uploaded to install the kit they sell way over a year ago. Seems like you didn't read instructions given and just winged it. Multiple things you did was way out of order.
@grahamsievers43842 жыл бұрын
Your criticism is way off base. You obviously only see things black and white! There are always multiple ways to get to the same end result, even Mcnasty says multiple times he would take more time in doing things in that video if it wasn’t just for demonstration purposes! I think the process shown here was just the opposite, it was a culmination of watching several different peoples’ methods of install and then doing it his way based on that. There can never be anything wrong with that in my books…
