Thanks eddie. I try to let them go because I can catch something that is more sustainable. I have heard small papio are pretty good. One of these days i'll have to try one.

No Kingfish here, just wahoo. In Hawaiian it is called Ono.

Hey i'm taking a trip to Oahu next June. Do you have any tips or spots for shore fishing? I will be on the north shore looking for Ulua, Papio, and O'io as well as any reef fish that will fight.

Hey patrick I haven't fished the north shore. In June it should be relatively calm up there, not the 30-40 ft waves rolling in now. I would look up whipping, the general idea is a clear float partly filled with water and a 6ft or so flouro leader to a small grub. Whipping can get you a ton of fish, maybe even bait for an ulua.
