I wanted to wait until I had ample seat time to answer this and now I have. At first I didn't find it that comfortable but after I spent some time making adjustments it's actually very comfortable and I'm honestly quite surprised by this. It is definitely designed for a larger body type then mine as it's pretty wide. For me it's more like sitting on a wide couch seat (which isn't a bad thing) then it is like sitting in a racing seat. I'm 6', 190ish lbs and about a 34" waist. Anyone smaller than me may not like it but I think it would be perfect for anyone with a bigger frame then me. I'll go further in detail when I do the review. Hope this helps!

@@DanDiMaggio You know, I've heard else where that the GT Omega seat cushion is kinda hard. How does it compare to the TrakRacer seat you referenced? I assume you can swap out seats from each rig?
@DanDiMaggio9 ай бұрын
Absolutely! You can run any seat on any profile rig as they all just use industry standard racing seat brackets and sliders. Same stuff as in real cars. They will be slightly different from manufacture to manufacturer but they all achieve the same goal. Yes it is true that this seat has a hard bottom cushion but it's certainly not uncomfortable. It's firm but I haven't had any discomfort and I've sat in it for hours at a time at this point. Overall, the Trak Racer seat is more comfortable for my body type but I can also see this one being more comfortable for larger individuals. What i would say is this, if you are considering putting a different manufactures seat on the rig anyways, just skip the "sim" seats all together and buy a legit racing seat from a known manufacturer like NRG, Sparco, etc. They will be better quality overall than any of the sim racing seats. They're just built to a higher standard so if you are going to go through the trouble of fitting a seat separately you might as well go with the real deal imo. The sparco R100 is an example of one that is around the same price but is much higher quality than the Gt Omega and Trak Racer. If you go that route just be sure to also budget for a bracket and slider since they won't come with the rig if you don't order a seat with it. @@kennychan2044

You inspired me to finally review my cockpit. It’s been almost a year, and no dedicated video. I’m slacking lol. Thank you.

Hell yeah! Looking forward to it!

I've been using this seat since they launched it in the red color. The main fabric itself has held up really well, and it stays noticeably cooler in longer races than the RS6, which was the main reason I got it. The more microfiber/felt material on the perimeter of the seat has worn pretty badly though. Wish the reclining mechanism was a little stronger, but I have no comfort issues even in long races, so I can't complain. Had a Sparco R100 at one point and it was built way better but wasn't comfortable for more than 45 minutes.

Dan, long time viewer and have really enjoyed your content over the years. What I am about to say is not meant to be negative. When you came back I remember you sharing the cycle of going in hard on sim racing putting a lot of effort into the channel, then getting burnt out and having life events that lead to you getting out of the hobby. I have really enjoyed your return to the space, but it seems like your are ramping up really quick again. Just hoping you are going at a sustainable pace so we don't lose you again for another 3 years.
@DanDiMaggio9 ай бұрын
I know I totally get it and I really appreciate you looking out! I am trying to go at a reasonably steady (not too crazy lol) pace but I'm one of those people who have to be like "all in" on something. I am being more careful this time around though. I'm just going at it like a hobby and have really been enjoying it. I really appreciate you Boosted and damn sure keep me in check!

Just one thing if you are going to build on a table you will need someones help most likely to get the whole rig down its pretty heavy fully assembled. Just a tip for anyone that see this and you're building solo. ✌ oh also adding some casters may help moving it around.

Which one is better, this GT Omega prime lite or the TR80 lite ?
@DanDiMaggio9 ай бұрын
So far there are things I like better about both but I'm actually swapping out some equipment today and just now will be driving the Prime lite as my primary for a bit. Once I use it for a while I'll plan on putting together a comparison video.

The wheel base or the bracket where the direct drive will be placed where you showed that the bolts go through are not slotted and that over time will potentially have infinite angular adjustment, I was wondering if you can jam something in the slots (like another bolt) so you can keep the base from having that angular adjustment especially when you have a strong wheel in there.
@DanDiMaggio7 ай бұрын
You can probably do something like that but honestly this has proven to be a non issue. It's been rock solid. I always try to point out potential issues in the first look and then address whether or not they really were in the full review which I'm actually filming for this right now. It should be out hopefully by the end of the weekend.

Can I mount the csl loadcell pedals or will i need drilling?

I have a similar rig coming without a seat. What would be your suggestion for a seat?
@DanDiMaggio9 ай бұрын
I used a sparco R100 in the past. It's a great seat if you are looking for something that reclines. I really like the GT Omega RS6 seat also. If you want something with a Fixed back NRG has some good options for reasonable prices. A lot of people use the NRG Prisma. Depending on the color and material you can find them for a few hundred dollars and they are really good seats! I prefer reclining seats since I edit and stuff from them as well but if I was just racing I'd go fixed back. Hope that helps!

I am between buying this or attempting a diy wooden rig for my Asetek La Prima.
@DanDiMaggio9 ай бұрын
DIY is always fun! But this would certainly do the trick as well!

Definitely buy an aluminum profile rig over a wooden rig!! Especially using a dd wheelbase and loadcell pedals

One thing i am wondering (havent watched the whole video yet) how are you getting that off the table? Its gotta be pretty heavy right? Anyways, i like how clean you keep that room. If you were hiding in my bushes you would see the rats nest i got going on in my caveman (wife calls is caveman room vs mancave) room. Thank you for another video. Peace✌️
