GT Omega Prime Lite review

great in depth review and I am now convinced into getting one. Shame no stock till mid April now but I can wait. As an aside I will only be using lower strength pedals personally but they do have an uprated pedal tray as the Standard Prime also had the same pedal tray which they uprated and can be purchased separately.

You won’t regret buying one, it’s made a huge difference to my sim racing experience..They do sell the upgraded tray, but at full price that starts to get close to the Prime. I have a partial solution which I’ll have to make a video about at some point.

I don't think it'll struggle as such, and if you're bolting them to the Heusinkveld base plate then that'll stiffen the whole thing up considerably anyway.

is it possible mount the shifter mount directly to vertical aluminium profile? it would be beneficial for me getting handbrake and sequential shifter closer to steering wheel for rallying and drifting stuff.

It can definitely be done that way, it’s all t-slot after all.

Yes, this is exactly what I did with my prime lite…you can pretty much put anything anywhere with a bit of ingenuity…also you can get more of the profile from Amazon etc at reasonable prices👍

Bolting the top cross section to the two thick plates with 8x20 flat head screws. The holes for the screws are only 6-7mm on my aluminium cross plate and I have nothing the correct diameter to screw in. Just wondered what sized screws yours were. The black ones.

I'm still waiting for my GT OMEGA PRIME Lite Cockpit, and I'm wondering when I will receive it. It has been close to two weeks now. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Hi, what did you use for the monitor mount bracket, anything specific?

It was a generic monitor arm from Amazon, one that mounts to either a desk or a wall, and I just bolted through the wall bolt holes. It’s a decent enough solution, but if you have the option I’d go for a solid mount.

Is it easy enough to fit a different seat to the rig? I'm looking at a 3rd party seat instead of a gtomega seat

It’s pretty straightforward, especially if you’re going for a side mount seat.

Great review. I wonder about the pedal tray, could you use penny washers under the tray to widen the screw head holding the pedals? so it has a wider area to grab across the next gap (rather than just the thin piece of metal before the next screw mount line/hole)

Yes you can, I’ve actually used a piece of angle with holes drilled in the appropriate place to bolt through to my pedals. Which stiffens up the whole plate considerably.

The Prime is currently on sale, making it only about $100 more than the Prime Lite. Would you recommend getting the Prime or the Prime Lite?

I'm seeing a £170/$210 difference, but if you can get the Prime for $100 more i'd go for it for the stiffer pedal plate.

Which seat do you use? It looks pretty comfortable.

I've got an autostyle seat, I can't remember which model but it's their wide version and It's mostly comfortable but if you have broad shoulders it might be a tight fit. Unfortunately it's sprung rather than solid fibreglass and a bottom mount rather than side mount for the rails which makes reclining it a matter of making up a custom bracket, so that's something to look out for.

The pedal plate isnt the best thing here, but you should use way more screws to mount the profiles to it.. I would probably use 2x 120 or even 160 profiles nad for sure it would be way better.

More bolts here aren’t going to help because the problem is that the sheet used to form the plate is too thin to provide enough stiffness in the middle of the plate. The solution for me was to use a piece of angle iron underneath the plate that is wide enough that it almost reaches the sides, it’s not a perfect solution but it dramatically reduces the flex in the plate.

I don’t see why not, it’s easy enough as long as your seat has standard sliding rails or side mounts.
