I went 86 GT Performer to a 88 GT chrome Vertigo.. As a kid did not have the funds to get a FS Team. Your very fortunate. My favorite trick to do was Hang Fives
@Mickchillagegainford01 Жыл бұрын
I was fortunate to get the PFST back in 88's because I was 20 years old and working :) Both bikes you had were still cool though and hang fives I never learned but could front yard in circles. Had a fear of going over the bars with the hang 5s lol!

I have my Mongoose Decade I bought in 1986, just got it back from a friend who had been holding it for me for the past 23 years. I'm going to be restoring mine once I get a few rides back on it. I have GT padded sea ton my bike.

I’ve got an ‘88 Pro Freestyle Tour. Mine’s electric blue with mags. I got it in June, 1990 a month after my ‘87 Pro Performer was stolen. It was a lucky find, being that I loved ‘87 so much. Mine isn’t a team model, but it’s in very good shape. I added a 1985 block stem in ‘92 to make it look like the bikes in the ’88 catalog.

Always great to hear that people still have their original bikes from back in the day. Sorry that your 87 got stolen though :(
@corrioliseffect9 ай бұрын
@@Mickchillagegainford01 Yep, I’ve also still got my ‘89 Jr. Performer (blue) and a ‘94 Pro Freestyle Tour Team Model (chrome). The ‘94 is all in pieces, though, as this was when my flatland days were starting. Ride on!

It should be nice to still own this after all these years. Id go ahead and throw the missing og parts on it to hang on the wall since its retired. MY 87 PFT is Dayglo Yellow and the only one in that color.

Wow man, that's about as good as it gets. I really, really like chrome bikes. Nice job holding on to it all this time. There's a couple bikes I've had that I'd love to have now.

Very cool. I too have my 1988 PFTTM and am just now in the process of getting ridable again. I do kick myself now for all the parts I took off and lost seeing the prices on Ebay these days. Regarding the front fork standers, I would like to believe I had the cool GT fork standers but all the old pics I have when the bike was new show odyssey fork stander on the bike. I built the bike from the box and can't recall which fork standers it had. Do you know if GT may have used those also when new?
@Mickchillagegainford01 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the vid. To the best of my knowledge, only the GT standers where used, however there have been some anomolies on parts coming out of the factories. My bike came out of the box with a standard stem bolt [Not hollow] ha ha. Best of luck with your rebuild!

Yeaa cool Bike. .....is this frame built in Japan?🔧very nice time from germany 😉look my new oldschool pegs😉
@Mickchillagegainford012 жыл бұрын
I hear lots of discussions regarding certain era GT frames that were built in Japan lately, I don't know the exact facts but the frame is stamped 12/87 so it was built in Dec 87' At the time of ordering this bike from new in early summer of 1988 my understanding/belief was that this was a Huntington Beach USA built Frame & fork.

Hello. Do you still have the hub for sale.

Hi Paul, unfortunately, I'm not selling the coaster hub if that's what you mean? The original rear freewheel Superlace hub was probably in the bag of parts I chucked out many years ago :(
