It goes in Gr. X because it doesn't really fit in any of the others, which is what Gr. X was probably intended to be used for. Gr. 4 and Gr. 3 are GT4 and GT3 renamed for unknown reasons (or very close), Gr. B is obviously patterned off old Group B (and probably fairly close to the old regulations, considering that the one actual Group B car in the game, the Audi Sport Quattro, is allowed to compete straight-up with its modern fantasy counterparts in the game), and it can't go in N___ because it's a race car (of course they let the Aston Martin Vulcan race in N classes so ???). Gr. 1 is for prototype race cars, but this car would be hopelessly uncompetitive against the LMP1 and fantasy cars that populate that class, unless they set the BOP algorithm to give it a huge boost (which would be sacrilege). In order to let this car be raced properly, they might actually have to add an in-game equivalent of the class it raced in back in its day (which I don't actually know, probably just some kind of "Prototype 5000cc" designation)

I'm aware of how Group X works. The point was that it *shouldn't* be that way. Classics, and more specifically classic race cars deserve their own category, or are otherwise virtually useless.

You have probably made your decision judging by the fact your comment was posted 8 months ago bit the Ferrari has better handling in my opinion but it is really up to your personal preference, so enjoy whichever car you choose!

I got the xj13 and started upgrading it without realising or checking how many mileage points were being used considering I was at 20k, didn’t think it will make dent. I ran out of points very quickly...

I haven't purchased the XJ yet, and since they are both next to useless in Gr.X - it totally depends on which you prefer. The Ferrari is lighter and more of a howler, whereas the Jag is more powerful and raspier.

I’ve been trying to save up for this car (currently on just over 9.5m cr) but not being able to race it much at the moment I’m having second thoughts. I'd say save yourself 5 million and get the Daytona Cobra, but if you're set on 20 mill, this Ferrari has a huge weight advantage combined with good speed so probably this.

No real driver is going to increase power using mileage points. I can drive several races using eligible car, drop the weight to the very lowest, and still come out on top 80% of the time. Weight has everything to do with racing. It affects more things than just power increase itself. If I can increase power 20-30% more from the 100% stand still, without using mileage points, I'll probably increase power a few percent more while investing in weight decrease, simply because it'd be a waste of mileage points to increase power maxed out. I used to do that and eventually found myself tweaking with weight more than power. Some cars require mileage point increase to able to tweek the power even 1%, which is fine and that's where you'd want to spend them. Also, before even buying a car, consider the cars permitted first and the cars you'll rival on the track, compare power and weight, find the best one, then use that on the track. Weight, power, and RPM all play a significant roll. The one thing I have trouble with in this game more than anything is suspension tuning and transmission tuning (as in tuning gears independently without tuning top speed).

What really annoys me in this game is they give you a random free car when you drive 20 odd miles but don't let you sell it for credits. so now I have 5 GT40 Gp3 cars oh but you can delete them, I don't know why they want you to grind so much it don't make the game fun just shitter.

R.O.B. UNiQUE KTM X-Bow R in the premium lounge event on the professional league. Detune it until it is JUST N300. There is a very good tune on the GT Planet website to improve the stability of the car. Can net 375,000 Cr. and 8,250 XP in ~12 mins for a clean race.
