Hi, i'm located in Tampa and i've been watching all of your videos and learning so much! I'm very inspired by your designs and plan on trying to replicate the front yard privacy buffer designs you've shown on your channel. I would love for more videos explaining how you create patterns, flow and impact in your designs. It's so hard knowing how everything will grow into the space.

Thank you, thank you for doing videos regularly. We retired from Michigan to the country of Boquete, Panama. Your videos are helping me to learn my plants and know what to place where. I love the clussia (hope I'm saying it correctly.) We've found a vivero(nursery) that carries many of the palms you show so now I won't invest in the wrong tree because of you. Thank you. 🌴

Hi Mary, Reading comments like the one you left is the reason I love making videos. This truly made my day😊. And yes! Clusia aren’t they just the best? And can be utilized in so many ways within a garden! Thanks for tuning in, Mary. Have a great day!

Very nice yard design. The ground cover at the end of the video is a baby rose or hearts and flowers it's a succulent I grow a vast amount of it here in the high Mohave desert. Great container plant and it propagates well off cuttings.

I feel seen! LOL, thank you. I'm enjoying this beautiful garden from home with my second cup of coffee this morning. Great video. We are huge fans of privacy buffers. Our home is on over a half acre lot, but the houses next door are close.

True gardener :) Looking for ideas for the steep slope for our built up new construction. I wish I could share a photo but the ditch along the front yard and along the side yards make it difficult for walking. I think we will just do clusia along the back and some artificial turf for the little space that will be left. Beautiful side yard here as always

Some video ideas: covering the ac unit, landscaping with fruit trees, choosing between rock or mulch/woodchips.

@@nicolagrove2928I got a load of wood chips from chipdrop. It was free and it is feeding my fruit trees well. I don’t have a watering system so I am trying to find ways to retain water.

I also forgot when you do videos could you mention how long it takes for the area you’re speaking about to “mature”. Just so we can have an idea how long it will take to get nice. Also, could you do a video on landscaping in a somewhat existing area not just a blank canvas. So we could see why you choose to do things the way you do.

Yes, absolutely! The next few of my videos are pre-recorded because Bryce, my son and cameraman, is currently away at school. However, next time we film, I will definitely do that! Thank you for the suggestion!

Question about the gravel/stone pathway and also when you out rocks in flower beds. How do you keep weeds at bay? I'm assuming thick landscape fabric? If you can let us see a behind the scenes one day on laying one of those pathways that would be awesome! I enjoyed the one you did on installing a small pond 💦
@stylewithlivingart
@stylewithlivingart 2 ай бұрын
Great suggestion, yes I can absolutely share that and can see how that could be helpful to so many, thank you. On the weed question yes a good weed barrier is crucial and unfortunately I do have to spray my pathway and suggest my clients do a spot treatment of round up once a month for the first 6 months then once every other month for the next. That gets the weeds and seeds that were below ground all under control. After that it’s usually a spraying 2-3 times per year. I wish there was a better way, I hope one day there will be.

Jennifer - I have a section of front yard that I don’t see very often but would like for it to look nice. What plants are just set and forget? It’s full sun all day but a privacy screen gives it some shade in the afternoon. Any ideas?
@stylewithlivingart
@stylewithlivingart 2 ай бұрын
Hello Becky, Some of the toughest plants in a full sun environment would be Variegated arboricola, Clusia, Mammy Crotons, Song of India,King sagos and Pygmy date palms. If you can fit something bigger in that area like a Pygmy palm planting some Maria or Silver Aglonema under the tree canopy would be an easy planting with really nice variegated color in the Aglonema. Hope that helped some Becky.

Can the King Palm take full Sun or does it need Shade? Also is irrigation enough water for this palm?
@stylewithlivingart
@stylewithlivingart 2 ай бұрын
Yes the king Alexander can take full sun however its going to need 3-4 days week watering with the irrigation system to help keep it from drying out. What for a palm deficiency with any full sun palms. I love the chelated palm drench if i notice yellowing on my full sun palms.

Lol I just have limited knowledge of the right plant in the right place when it comes to Florida gardening as I’m from Massachusetts. So please let me know if this is something you’d do 🙏 thank you 😊
