GT5 is the last of the great Gran Turismos. After the 2.0 update it was great, the lighting engine was amazing for the day. The weather effects were great (the way the water droplets refracted light and moved based on physics and wind speed was a first!), full time of day. The day night transition was gorgeous, and I Still love how the night was so realistically dark, and the headlights only just barely bright enough. Loved it. For it's day, GT5 was greatness. Only after the 2.0 update though, it was a bit of a disjointed mess on launch (like so many games today)

Twan Slegers That's game advancement for you, the hype before GT5 release was awesome, some of the best days on the internet for me. Many were gobsmacked by how good it looked including me. Now I understand how those who grew up in the 90s feel, when they say they were blown away by graphics for games that look shit to most of us its hard to understand but imagine having a son now and in 10 years time telling him that GT5 graphics blew you away, he would think you are crazy. You know, I wish that any racing game that had a bunch of vehicles in it would kind of treat vehicles like a skill tree in something like, say, you have something like, oh, a Chevrolet Corvette. Now instead of unlocking hundreds of versions of the same vehicle, you can unlock a vehicle of a particular version make and then you can select the different types of vehicles, like, for an example, you have the C2 Corvette and you can unlock the split window 1963 version of the vehicle or a later L88 version of the vehicle, or all of the different variants of the vehicle in real life, as well as concept versions of the vehicle. Would that not be a far better system to make vehicles in as opposed to how they do it in video games now?

atif i like also arcade games, but when it's shown that is an arcade. Forza and GT are only two arcade games, but Poliphony and Turn 10 says that they're arcade. PC 2 is the most complete but It has really much much bugs. As says another comment, they're two arcade like NFS, but i prefer NFS because they says it's only an arcade. The problem is that for most people, the popularity of GT and Forza make them think like the developers. If only people would know real simulators, who would buy GT or Forza? Less, much less people. 30 developers in Kunos Simulazioni can make things perfectly compared to Poliphony and Turn 10, that have much developers and much budget. The best game for the moment is F1, if we don't consider the real simulators

Lmao. People often say in the comments section about the lack of content for GTS. To be honest, progress demands sacrifice. GTS sacrificed the sheer number of cars and other content just to give a better quality, with progress adding many more cars and more content (50+ new cars yet little single player so far, more to come). I personally enjoyed the content so far and longing for more. The sacrifice even gave us better sounds of cars, and don't sound like vacuum cleaners anymore. Not fanboying here, just a honest opinion.

Image is definitely sharper now, gone is the excesive shimering of distant objects of GT6, and the lighting model is better, making everything look more solid. However, this is a testament of just how great GT5 and GT6 were. With GT5 they pretty much had to start from a clean slate and model everything from the groundup (save from the standard cars, that is), whereas with GT sport I'm sure they are using (or working and improving upon) some of the assets they had done for GT5 and 6. I'd love to see a comparison of the car models, to see if the insane attention to detail and chamfering of edges (that we saw in the digital foundry Forza 7 vs GTS) is still there in the GT6 car models.

I like the result achieved in GT Sport (overall graphics and sound quality, and also the realistic car details). GT 5 was good and accurate at their time, which also happened with GT 6. One thing I don't like of GT 5 and GT 6 is the drivers' hands grabbing the steering wheel, why such a delicate posture? This is just an opinion of mine.

Graphics: GT Sport -> GT6 -> GT5 Sound: GT Sport -> GT6 -> GT5 although tbh, the sound in GT5 sounds like you are driving a lawnmower, and in GT6 it sounds like a bass boosted lawnmower lol GT Sport car sounds, and overall environmental sounds are fucking phenomenal! Graphics wise, GT5 looks like GT4 on the PS2 just on its 1080i mode... GT6 looks pretty good tbh for a PS3 game. and GT Sport, although it doesn't have that much of good graphics (Forza 7 and Project Cars 2 beat it easily), it has amazing lighting and shadow effects. all in all, i wish GT Sport was released on PC as well >.> Sony seriously need to make a PC platform like steam or Origin just for Playstation exclusives, which requires PS+ to use. sort of like what Microsoft has with the Xbox exclusives nowadays. i'd LOVE to play GT Sport, but one game doesn't justify paying over 500$ for a PS4 Pro (regular PS4 will be obsolete in less than 2 years, if not even faster than that (optimization wise)).

i have to disagree, sure GT Sport has the best lighting engine in the business for sure, but the textures quality in the interiors are flat, anything outside the track looks muddy and awful, and unlike Forza 7, there are no dashboard reflections inside the interior. sure Forza 7 doesn't have the best graphics out there, but it has consistency in its graphics. you get highly detailed textures on the tracks as well on the environment. i'm personally not a Forza fan, i'm actually a GT fan, and tbh i was disappointed in the graphics department... it seems like once again Polyphony decided to keep a bunch of PS2 graphics cars, and keep the awful PS2 quality environments in some of the tracks, in a 8th Gen game :| GT is a game that lacks consistency all over the place, 80% of the cars in the game STILL have no high quality interiors or even interiors at all, it lacks a hood cam which makes playing the game with a wheel feel a bit awkward, it lacks dynamic weather and realistic vehicle damage. and sadly its always Online DRM makes it a game that will sadly die in a few years, just how Polyphony shut down GT5 back in 2014 after 4 years, luckily the GT Mode in GT5 was fully playable without Internet, something that cannot be said about GT Sport. and besides all of that, in the end of the day, these are Racing Simulators, the graphics don't matter at all, what really matters is how immersible and how great the handling and the overall experience feels, and GT Sport offers an amazing experience.

Why P.D. did not add track settings on all the tracks is a huge let down..Still my fave gt game..way ahead of it time and it's 9yrs old..we need a remastered version for ps4 pls polo.dit. it would be better than GT sport

I did both 24h twice : First time I race le mans 24h on a Ford gt lm. Dad unfortunately plugged off the electricity. So mad It took a few weeks before doing it with the red bull fancar. A similar misadventure happened in Nurburg' 24h but I redid it almost immediately. Quite an adventure on GT5. GT5 should have fused a-mode with b-mode, especially for endurance

GTS graphics looks like the game was released at the same year as the PS4. Meanwhile, GT6 pretty much offered the best performance the PS3 could handle.

GT Sport is really good although I’m not happy with the GR. X car group because it sort of restricts you from racing against other cars in Custom Races. But GTS has fenominal graphics

Gran turismo 2 was my favorite. I spent hours and hours on that game. The load times, however..... gt sport has impressive graphics i guess Kazunori Yamauchi never dream with this level of realism, im astonised!!

GT6 looks too smooth in cockpit view. Have you ever watched an onboard video in a racecar? It's a bumpy affair! Even GT5 seemed to have captured that effect!

OMG, that sound comparison with the GTR.... Yeah, they have improved the sound just a bit!!! Still not the best by any means, but at least up to par.. Finally.

It seems like gt5 and gt6 are more of a trade off than an upgrade... gt5 has better lighting, framerate, and anti aliasing.. Meanwhile gt6 has better suspension physics, resolution, and shadows... Although I must say... Gt5 had better shadow angles.. If gt5 had no jagged lines in the shadows and good "car roll" physics... It'd beat gt6 in a heart beat

Idk i think night racing was better in Gt6 imo. I loved the night racing. Idk if it's cuz of the reflection off the signs that gt sport doesn't really have or what but it just looked better imo

Man I had almost 1500hrs on GT5 and didnt buy gt6 until 2015 because I simply had over 1k cars, customized to my liking would just have a blast in gt mode and online. Man drag racing on special stage route 7 was the fucking days man before we got that one long ass race track. I playes gt6 and man the sounds were much bettee than 5, graphics to and it was more refined. Had a reason to play it. Sport is just up there with gt5, my two worst complaints are no gt mode and no intake and exhaust mods. But the rest of the game is soo good i forgive it.
