If I'm not mistaken, I think you can play as Darkel by entering the pedestrian code a bunch of times. There's even a female pedestrian that doesn't appear anywhere else in the game that can be played as. Now, keep in mind, I'm going by memory here, but that Darkel model looks familiar.

Well, Rockstar wanted Gta 3 to be in same universe as the 2D universe, hinting why theirs Zaibatsu posters in older screenshots and the graphics are like cartoony sorta like the 2D universe. So chances are they wanted more stuff from the 2D universe Like the 7 gangs from gta 2 in that interview, and the most likely wanted to gta 2 rampage guy have a identity.

When i was little i had a magazine with Darkel's Involvement in future GTA Games ''Darkel was always the player invisioned. The need to go on random rampages, a version of him is someway portraied in GTA I AND II. In GTA III , Darkel gives you missions such as ''Minimum Bureaucracy'' Darkel can be found at the trail railways and can be used as a quest giver. It involves takeing the train for the first time in GTA III and serves as an introduction, however Darkel ties a politician to the tracks and Claude is forced to watch as the train he took splashes the Politician. We all love the upcoming GTA: San Andreas and are excited to see what role he will play in side the gangster riddled world of San Andreas.'' It was a very knock off magazine that contained loads like this but for now this is all i can find by googling it. It was called ''Risky'' and it was a gaming magazine that used to leak information about upcoming games and trailers.

To me, it was very nostalgic and interesting to see how the city and the characters changed from GTA 3 - I smiled in the 1st 10 minutes of the game when I saw my first safehouse, a building that was in ruins in GTA 3. How can this be not interesting to you as a researcher whose entire channel is dedicated to comparisons? No, I'm not asking for 3 vc LCS comparsion, I just mean even seeing the obvious differences between these two games is interesting, and imagine what you could do with your finding beta material and stuff skills.

I have an idea how he could have been a rampage icon. Maybe unlike the rampages we got, because he is a man he would only be in one spot at a time, find him and do the mission. The rampages were multiple over the map,although they did move location if you failed them, maybe Darkel was gonna do that too I dunno. Or there were going to be multiple Darkels standing around because that's what video games do sometimes.

I never really bought the idea that the Dodo wasn't meant to be flown. I remember when GTA3 came out and we found the Dodo, getting it flying took about two minutes of experimenting and it didn't ever seem like exploiting a bug or anything, it was clearly just made to be difficult to fly but certainly not impossible to do and the technique isn't really a bug. From what has been said it seems to me that Darkel was probably seen as just a bit too much which is saying something in a game as controversial as GTA3.

well I think that DMA design (aka Rockstar North) was actually planning to make planes drivable in GTA 3, because like you said, the dodo has a weird contro,scheme to fly, but it can fly once you get the hang of it, but because it was their first 3D gta and they either didnt have enough time to finish the flying mechanics or had to scrap it for being too difficult to implement. they scrapped the entire concept, but left some working code on the dodo and didn't bother to erase it and instead cut its wings and call it "deaddodo", justifying why you shouldn't be able to fly it. They also probably scrapped the flying mechanic because of the GTA 3 map not being fully modeled for flying in the first place, if the player was able to fly then he would see a lot of unfinished areas around the top of the buildings. So yeah, TL;DR: It is possible that they were working on the concept of claude being able to fly a plane like the skimmer in Vice City, but it was cut due to either being too time consuming to implement or they couldnt get it right.

As we all know, the majority of game mechanics in GTA 3 are introduced to the player in the mission, be that driving, buying weapons, scoped shooting with sniper rifle, rigging a car with a bomb and so on. I guess, Darkel supposed to be a character that explains Rampage mechanic to the player, so one of his missions (perhaphs a very first) was dedicated to it.

Darkel was clearly inspired by Fight Club, since the movie came out right around that timeframe I can't tell if it was due to it or the book. Also I do believe the Love Hurts myth, Rockstar has been caught lying blatantly about cut features from their games due to controversy, plus it helps connect the dots over Donald Love's disappearance.

It always made sense that they cut him after 911. And they wouldn't admit that even later to not draw any heat to gta, because they already had a lot of problems with this franchise, probably everyone remembers San Andreas problems with ESRB rating after they discovered that there are unused files in a game and "terrorist like missins" would calssify also as... Adult Only. Disappearance of Donald Love in GTA 3 is somewhat weird, and unexplained, it feels like there is a hole in the plot. That's why it always made sense that the mission would be to end him. And Dodo supposedly never should fly, but somehow it does. It's not that players used bugs to make it fly, the vehicle actually behaves like it was meant to fly, otherwise we would be having players figure out how to fly cars.

If only he was brought over to GTA V. Could just imagine him being a character who would be a bum in Sandy Shores near Trevor. Could even see him being a wacko who could supply Trevor with some of his more illicit goods. Maybe Ron would voice his concerns over Trevor’s association with him, but would be told off. I used to be good at flying the dodo and landed it on top of the Lovemedia building and was able to check out the Japanese garden you see in the cutscenes. Dodo wasn't meant to fly, but flying vehicle could have different name instead. And when they cut off the wings - they renamed it Dodo. And I don't believe Dan Houser's quote about these mission weren't even finished. A few months before release it's time to polish the game, fix some bugs, optimise. And not to leave a couple of missions undone.

I'm sorry but you clearly know nothing about video game development. Rockstar (and most major companies) use a concept called 'crunch' where up until the last days or hours they're making changes. It's incredibly naïve to assume that games are effectively complete "months" before release with just polishing and bug fixes required. You can see some of the beta videos that were less than 2 months away from the full release with major changes having been made between that and release.

What do Darkel and El Burro have in common besides the icecream mission?.. The name EL...There is a cult of EL..EL is the DARK Lord of Saturn..Hence the play on words name Dark-EL..The name EL Burro is also a play on words for El burried..Like they burried The name EL, because the name Dark-El was too obvious...He gave 5 missions to represent 5 points of the pentagram..if you listen to his audio files, one of the things he mutters is something along the lines of "we do what we will" which mirrors the belief system of the Cult...GTA is obviously made by or has an illuminati Saturn cult undertone...It's literally everywhere in GTAV as they are more open about showing it these days..Saturn Cubes..Murals...UFOs..Aliens...Etc. So basically, i assume darkel was just a beta idea for these rampage missions, later scrapped, and instead of character development its idea was used as side mission content. if thats the case, then its uh... pretty shallow of rockstar for that time.
