Killing in GTA 4 felt so more personal than it does in GTA 5. The way the bodies would move when they got shot felt so much better and more fun to shoot. I don't know why they didn't put that in GTA 5, in GTA 5 the bodies don't fall the same :(

It is because gta 4 used euphoria physics engine. Which is an engine that makes animation on the go, so if you shoot someone, he would stretch his arms to the point of where he was shot. If someone loses balance, he would try to stand by moving his legs to the right position. Gta 5 has lots of animations but nearly no physics

You havent killed enough in gta v to notice how realistic damage is there are different walking/shooting/running/crawling animation for every body part damage and if theres an object behind or infront of ragdoll it will try to hold on to it and still try to shoot you

Dude it just sucks that they completely replaced GTA V's combat system,Characters werent dying in 1 shot and they were actually getting wounded and were trying to get in cover to survive in GTA IV but in GTA V you shoot someone once?well they will fall to their death immidietly,maybe if lucky they will shake their hands a bit and then die...

They probably watered it down for being to real in a sense, to avoid controversy. When the player shot a NPC in that game, they suffered on screen, kinda sadistic. Or they changed it because players (younger) want faster gameplay.

I know, they would hold their wounds and sometimes even misfire their gun into the ground, and if you shoot someone in the foot they would limp and become slower, I always do that in open world games and so far it's only gta 4 that does it, I was kinda disappointed when in watchdogs if you shoot someone in the foot they stumble a bit or maybe fall over, but then they just run off like nothing had happened, no changes in speed whatsoever. The police in GTA 4 were way better than in 5 I think, if you pointed a gun at them they wouldn't shoot you unless you open fire and wouldn't shoot you if you just stood beside them, rather than in 5 they were trigger happy psychos that would pump you full of lead if you stayed in their line of sight for more than 10 seconds!... Ok... maybe that was a bit of an overstatement but you know what I mean!

+Lúcás Mámúnkéh​ 19 weeks later, I feel compelled to respond. Turns out there was a big trade off for graphics over physics. The amount of random animations and physics packed into gta IV drastically decreased performance, so alot was toned down and reworked for grand theft auto V, but . Console systems just don't have the power as of yet to utilize the best of both features as of yet. Maybe in 2053 it will be balanced out. See you then :(

I like the physics in 4 more than 5. In 5 it just seems like regular ragdoll, the arms are constantly flying up in the air, and peds go spinning when you hit them with the car. 4 was so much better. Are you ever going to do any compilations in Saint's Row?

@@danwordgod2017well lol like them creating a new engine which doesn't feel nearly the same as the better engines they had for red dead and GTA 4 . The guns in GTA 5 don't feel or sound that's heavy when firing them compared to the other 2 games . The car crashes feel weird and were more chaotic and easy to topple cars over in GTA 4 . Not to mention when you kill people in GTA 5 the Death animations are just sometimes weird . Like shooting some people in the foot once in GTA 5 can nearly kill them in seconds . While in GTA 4 and red dead redemption they survive from a couple bullets . Unless shot in the head of course . They can even crawl in red dead when shot in both feet . That's more realistic . Sacrifices that are made when making a new engine like these can make games not as good sometimes . Like what Ubisoft has been doing with the last 3 Assassin's Creed games . I'm wondering why the hell Unity and Syndicate looked better in 4k than Origins and Odyssey and Valhalla did . Valhalla had some nice stuff on the next gen consoles but still . Edit the new AC games do have really beautiful locations but as an Assassin's Creed game with fighting and moving mechanics I feel like they really got downgraded there
