Steve Haines wanted Trevor dead, and same with Dave Norton, who Trevor was considering as an antagonist, but Michael said he needed to stay alive. Devon Westin wanted Michael dead since he was responsible for Molly’s death, which made a fool out of him.

I love the way each protagonist has a role in Devin’s death. Franklin: Gets provoked into coming for him, after being held out on and what not, and has that great “I picked C, ain’t that a bitch?” line. Michael: The main guy that Devin wanted killed, ends up giving him a monologue about his economic evils and says the last thing he’ll ever hear. Trevor: Kidnaps and tortures him like how we first meet Devin- torturing a civilian after being snatched from his home, and destroying Devin’s mindset with his “irrationality.” Game’s got some problems here and there but the dynamic between the three protagonists is very sharply written.

I have to say, this condensed compilation of showing exactly how much of an obnoxious prick Devin Weston really is certainly made the ending that much more satisfying. I remember playing the game and thinking he was kind of annoying and I somehow quickly lost track of how bad he is, but this time he made me want to clench my fists in rage. And Molly? Solomon said it best “were you ever a human being?” In summary I think most people could agree that guys like Devin Weston kinda deserves an ending like that. I only now as an adult understand how nicely Michael actually sums up everything about Devin in the end. Outsourcing as in literally hiring Michael, Trevor and Franklin to do his dirty work and the underpay them if not pay them at all, and offshoring, well it certainly makes for a great pun as Devin himself is literally getting sent off shore to his well deserved grave. And Trevor is the perfect guy to deliver him and also a sure fire guarantee that Devin NEVER gets to win, not even money or opportunities could steer Trevor away from his personal desire to just simply watch Devin die. Heck Trevor despite the crazy comments is not hard to sympathize with given the circumstances. I actually now just wish you had a mini game where you could beat Devin Weston to a pulp for as long as possible until you offshore him and his prolapsed ass into the ocean.
