Some aspects of the beta actually look better than the final version. Of course this isn’t a one off when it comes to GTA games. Obviously some GTA games, such as GTA 3, underwent numerous changes during development for understandable reasons. In any case, it’s very fascinating to see how GTA 5 looked in beta versions.

The beta version of GTA 5 had a lot of content that didn't make it to the final release. For example, the vegetation in the game was initially denser and more detailed, but it was scaled back due to the hardware limitations of the PS3 and Xbox 360. Police forces were also toned down, as they were originally supposed to use tasers and truncheons in lower-star situations.

As you probably noticed there was way WAY more vegetation in the beta version. The reasone why Rockstar decided to delete most of them was because of hardware limitation on consoles and pcs back then.

The beta version was never released to the public it was only a Rockstar exclusive test phase while they worked on the game. So you couldn't run it.

No, it just looked that way because the game had to deload a lot of the mountain to handle loading in all the extra trees and vegetation present in the beta version of Los Santos, which were cut in the final version because of hardware limitations of now modern PCs and consoles could load all of that and the mountain in with relative ease but that's all it was the mountain still would have still looked like a mountain if the person who took the beta photos got closer to the mountain.

The Burger Shot by Del Piero across from the promenade where you can only see inside briefly during the one mission where the guy opens the door, there is the other strip club Franklin spawns at that was cut. The only interior save I did notice was a 24/7 Franklin spawns at is only a texture and not open in the PS3/XB360 versions, but is open in the 2nd gen version of V.
