The reason why Lamar and Trevor work so well together is because they as characters rhyme, as the “crazy best friend.” Franklin and Lamar are the younger, more impressionable versions of Trevor and Michael. The only difference is that Franklin always has Lamar’s back throughout the story, while Michael abandoned Trevor.
