For this special Survive The Hunt episode i am join by Hat Films, as all four of us must try and stay alive for a full 24 hours of Gta 5 time while be hunted down.

@@Wiresgalore I really don't understand the hate against the Futo. It's underwhelming in it's base-form, sure. But it's an excellent drift-car, and it has enough control to make playing in traffic hell for any pursuant.

@@raregliscor1 I mean in general. When you're playing around in the city's and your main strength is the quarter-mile race it makes more sense, but all I'm saying is there are cases when a small, nimble car makes more sense.

@@chesterstevens8870 I think it just comes down to driving styles. I like the Futo too, but my general choice in cars seems to be very different to Alex's. In my experience it takes a particular kind of twitch reactions in your driving to pull off that kind of aggressive handling in a car that's rear wheel drive, fairly powerful and slightly top-heavy. Based on his performance in these hunts, I get the impression Alex relies more on planning his move before he pulls it - which he's shown can make him hell to follow through the city streets - whereas he always opts away from tighter, more reactive escape routes if there's any alternative available.

i still say that's one of the most compelling bits where we think the hunters are cheating. because they had no way of knowing he was there, but they swarmed all over that place and when they didn't find him they didn't go looking elsewhere they just sat there and camped the rooftops.

This was probably 15 years ago at least but I remember watching something as a kid but it was similar to survive the hunt. The show was filmed out in the middle of nowhere and basically you had a guy trying to get to a specific location without getting caught by the team of police officers looking for them. I know there were a few episodes at least of it but only 1 I can really remember any details. The guy had almost escaped to his objective when the officers used real police cars as a blockade rather than the tv cars that were basically just a frame and rollcage. Now I don't remember the name of the show and i may be remembering the details wrong but that was the general gist my 10 year old mind can remember

*Hopefully Constructive contribution* Greetings Failrace, would you mind to implement a gameplaymechanic into survive the hunt, where you start with a 48 Hour survival goal? The interesting part would be, that every Prius you blow up , would lower that goal by 6 hours (=> 1 blown up Prius = 42 Hours, 2 Prius = 36 hours, ...) with a maximum reduction possible to the yet familiar 24 Hours after after 4 Prius. It would not only give the Prius an actual reason to be blown up, but would also give a little chance for some minutes of extra entertainment P.S. Love this challenge series - watching that is like watching a really immersive Movie :D

I do like this mechanic and support it myself, but there is something that you seem to have forgotten.... Most of the time the Survive the Hunts end because FailRace himself gets killed. It's easy to judge if he wins or not if it's only a 30 minute video as a full day in-game is much longer. What WOULD make it more interesting is if you didn't stop at just 4 Prius. Let's say after the initial Prius get destroyed (whether it being just 4 or more) he can subtract 2 hours per Prius destroyed. We wouldn't be able to guess if he won or not just by looking at the video's length. It also means a 30 minute video can be extremely fast paced with Prius getting blown up at a quicker pace along with FailRace having to be a bit more daring when it comes to his actions. Again I do like your idea, I love it actually. You just forgot something that's more on the obvious side when it comes to these videos.

Survive Hunting the Hunters - They have 24hrs to find and kill you, you have 24hrs to assassinate as many of them as possible. Standard combat rule set for hunters (no full autos/explosives or shooting from cars) but they're limited to one life and ghosting is forbidden (the dead can't talk).

I'll be honest, I kind of prefer the original failrace style compared to this. I think this style would be much better with just 2 survivors instead of 4, since it's kind of hard to get invested into one's game when it keeps shifting so much between the others. Now, I don't dislike this video at all, so far, it's great fun to watch the new guys have no idea how to blend in. It sucks the audio for Failrace was broken since I would've really liked for him to upload just his view as a bonus video to this, but with his audio being borked, it'll most likely never happen. Oh well, still looking forward to the end of this vid!

It would be much better if the Hat Film crew (or others) got more experience with this game mode to make it a real hardcore STH. That aside what might be very interesting is a 4-way split screen to see what all 4 are seeing at the same time (edit if needed).

I think that this stylre is more fast-paced due to the constant cuts between POV's, which isn't bad at all, but it isn't close to the original format. I agree with 2 survivors though, but I think with 2 survivors they should stick closely together and have a common goal, like the assassinate the president gamemode that he used to make. summary: STH should stay slow-paced with intense moments, and alex should bring back the assassinate the president gamemode but combine it with STH to make a fast paced version of STH

I really enjoyed seeing the different POVs, this was my favorite survive the hunt yet. Suggestion: Since there are more survivors, i would suggest more time in the clock to make it a little more fair for the hunters.

I mean I think it's pretty balanced. With one survivor compared to four, there'd be a lot more chases, and you'd likely catch someone acting up. Makes it more fun for the viewers, the hunters and the survivors. If it gets a little OP in the future, then more time could work, but for the moment it works I think. Edit: not to mention the hunters won.

This was pretty cool, but I think the solo episodes are the best. You should finally do a survive the hunt where you're on foot the entire time (except at the beginning when you're getting away from the starting point). I think it would make for a fun episode, and the hunters wouldn't expect it.

survive the hunt challenge idea: Alex gets 3 lives, but has to kill all the hunters while still trying to be discreet about it, in 24 hours. Hunters get no choppers, can only drive pink pris and can only use snub pistols. I call it, hunting the assassin.

And I've noticed a trend, even with failrace, of sitting still when copters are hovering right in front of them, cars are gathering, all looking at and bumping into him, and he just sits there. I don't know why it bothers me, but it does. It's like clearly they are on to you, we can all tell within the first split second of that copter hovering or the hunter car pulling along side.

I came here because of hat films and really enjoyed this. There were times when I was on the edge of my seat and screaming ‘why would you do that’ (this was with trotts death as he was standing still which pedestrians wouldn’t typically do as far as I’m aware)

Something I think this video does a pretty good job at is showing us a bit about how the Survive the Hunt Players have evolved. In this case particularly the Hunters who have evolved a series of tactics meant to shake out survivors that are pretty damn good. In the initial however many episodes the Hunters chased each other and wierd AIs all over the map - here their ability to recognize extremely quickly - AI not of interest move on to new target quickly is on display. Alex also explains - in this episode - why the "Play Dead" tactic he was big on a few episodes back is probably not worth it. If the Hunter is busy it works of course but if not it does not really hurt for a hunter to check. Kill and if its an AI oh well - just call Lester to remove wanted level costs them very little. Here again I think we see an evolution of Hunter tactics. A new hunter does not think this way but a veteran one clearly does.

for the first time I have been skipping forward a STH video. I am all for trying new things so I hope you've now tried this and won't try it again. I am a fan of "If it ain't broke don't fix it". The recipe of following you and experiencing your stresses and strains of surviving a hunt was a good one. We felt the same anxiety as you did when a hunter passes by or jumping out of our swivel chairs when the blimp suddenly appeared. Clenching our teeth as you struggle to escape a fleet of cars. Sighing deeply when you did or shouting "BOLLOCKS" when you got caught. Having more that one fox imho diluted the experience . I hope this is a one off. Respect.

41:53 - I think he was shot for one of two reasons: 1 - A gang member drove across the railway tracks in an unusual, very hurried way, resembling an escape before stopping at an intersection further. It is possible that the AI decided that it was being followed by the player, because from what I saw, he followed his car for quite a long time. 2 - What you mentioned, which is the "growling" of the engine right behind his back. I have the impression that it was treated as a kind of challenge, checking if he would chicken out. I know that in GTA SA there were plenty of ways to literally make contact with passers-by, police and gang members, and I have the impression that these possibilities have not been removed from GTA 5. With the next episode of this series, out of curiosity, I will look at your intentional or not interactions with the environment to check the answer of, for example, passers-by, because the more I watch your episodes from this series, the more impression I get that most of this behavior of NPCs in your environment is not accidental and as a hunter I would look at it first to see if there is anyone around who is trying to blend in with the crowd. I will not go into details or explain what and how, because I think that this type of fun is the best when you discover it yourself.

A little tip from my experience, if you use an Xbox One Elite controller you can toggle the triggers to only go down partially. Meaning you will accelerate and decelerate at a slower pace, making it easier to blend in with traffic. Also, in a low powered car (essentially any car you choose for this "game mode") holding down both triggers will turn the brake lights on without spinning the wheels. So you can sit at traffic with the lights on and not have to worry about the reverse lights coming on! Just my two cents.

(after watching every challenge, i myself feel i could be part of this since i already am well aware of all the rules, environment, car's, and what to do to survive.
