It low-key suits him, but R* dialled that part of him much lower in release. Michael is just a sneakier, more clinical Trevor, makes them fitting friends. One of the reasons why Micheal seeks therapy and why Trevor is at odds with him is that Michael is two faced, whether he's a family man who's also a sociopath and psychopath in denial, or whether he plans to protect or use his friends.

The bank one makes sense. If the RPG is fired before the alarm starts, the employees might directly call the police in panic. This would make it so that Lester cannot get an accurate measure of how long the cops take. Once the alarm starts, the police are directly called by the automated system. This would allow Lester to take a proper reading. And if the police is already called and time is already being measured, the bank wouldn't really care about more RPG's being thrown at them, since the police is already on their way.
