Lol, that was the exact reason i never bought/played GTA 5, ever! I didn't like that 2013 Los Angeles atmosphere they went with, it just makes me think of stupid prank videos that was populare at the time! I always preferred The atmosphere in GTA 4!

I remember i was a military soldier at the age of 19 and spent an hour trying to explain my mother how to get the game to download on my ps3 over a pay phone in HQ so I can play it when I go for my leave the week after. Kudos to her she managed to do it eventually, god rest her soul . Edit : just wanna say how much I appreciate your nice replies and sorry I can’t get to all of your nice comments individually. I like Trevor the most only because his character is consistent between scenes and gameplay. Michael and Franklin are always hesitant to do anything in cutscenes, but then when you have control, immediately make them commit a bunch of murders. Trevor is always homicidal. Consistent.

That’s how most protagonists in games are, you can just make them betray their morals and personalities for your own entertainment. Plus whatever you do outside of the missions/cutscenes isn’t really canon to the respective games.

I was 18 and a freshman in college when GTA V dropped originally. I preordered it and was itching to leave my class early to pick it up lol. I'm now 27, its so wild that this game has entered it's third generation of consoles. And even crazier that I've purchased it three times (360, One, and PS4) 😂

I was 18 and right out of highschool when this came out. I remember going to the midnight release at my local GameStop, not a huge crowd or anything but it's a good memory. As I'm typing this I just finished another playthrough of GTA. I think the last time I played through was 2017 then before in 2013.....got me feeling kinda sad, I guess it's the memories I have of waiting for multiplayer to launch. Then when it finally did playing with my old gaming buddies grinding missions and robbing the gas stations......I'll never be able to go back to that time, and I took some of it for granted.

I've got to say I'm pretty impressed. I'm playing it on the Xbox series X in the RT setting, and it looks so smooth sounds great, and it just feels way more polished. Things like reflections in Windows and stuff like that really stand out more. And I'm not talking about like the rear view mirror or side mirrors I mean just in the windows and such. Overall it feels like a much more polished product. The updates and stuff were great too. If you haven't started a fire yet in 60 FPS (performance RT) you should try it! Looks good.

The Ray tracing is basically completely negligible and extremely hard to notice in most cases. There’s no RT reflections whatsoever, only RT shadows which are not super noticeable in open world games like this.

Me and my buddy stood in line for the midnight release when it first came out. We were in the first 5 in the line and got exclusive goodie bags with a t-shirt, bug inspector van keyring, bank vault kitchen timer, 500 dollar bill air freshener, stickers and a pen with blue light on it for the map that came in the game case. Really annoying I vouldnt transfer my saves over no matter what I tried, also lost the Career Builder on online and couldn't retrieve it back - other than that really good experience for the price especially

The problem rockstar doesn’t seem to understand is for people like me who have been playing since the game released 8+ years ago running around the same map is boring as all hell! I would honestly be happy with an update that didn’t add any new businesses or anything but took all of the burger joints, banks, and other buildings with interiors and opened them up so that we had more space to explore. The jump is huge, especially in Online... The new car upgrades makes a massive difference in land speed. And then you play at 60fps, and yes it's not native 4k... But it does look really sharp. All of this could not work on the old gen machines. And tbh, the game was truly a PS4 era game. Just a degrade and early launch on PS3. That's how I see it, and love the upgrade. Feels like a brand new game

Yesterday was the 9th anniversary of GTA 5 hitting the shelves 🎉 hard to believe this masterpiece will be 10 yrs old soon. GTA 5 was groundbreaking for it's time. It was our introduction to the PS4/Xbox One generation, and the era of massive open world gaming.

I was really hoping for something more akin to the graphics mods we have on PC, which just look to be far more photorealistic and graphically impressive. It's actually more than what PC has. It's actually got new textures and effects that aren't available on PC. They will likely do what R* usually does, and a short while after console release, the new features will also release on PC.

The problem with releasing the exact same game 9 years later with some slight touch ups is you have to deal with modders who haven’t stopped working on it. It’s like Skyrim special edition, it never took off because the modded versions of the game were vastly superior to the new release despite an upgraded lighting engine and volumetric lighting and all that

I actually just replayed the story on Xbox One back in September and finished it in December. Was my second time playing it since it originally released back in 2013 on the 360. Ended up getting a Series X late December and I hate that I played the XB1 version because I didn't think I'd be able to get a SX. If I hadn't already played the XB1 version so recently, I maybe would've gotten this next gen version.

The game came out when I was 11, now i’m 19. I’ve probably got over 80 days plus on the game, and have had a lot of great times playing it with buddies over the years and even randoms, also I use to play it on the xbox 360 alone for the most part and then played it on ps4 for a long time. When you upgrade to next gen you will not be able to play with anyone on the previous gen, it will send over your data to your new console buy all of your last gen data will be deleted, so if you have friends that do not have a next gen system do not buy the upgrade unless you never want to play with them again.

What’s funny is how quick we get use to things. I’ve had my Ps5 since launch and only play Ps5 games or upgraded to. It’s impossible for me to play a game at 30fps anymore and I’ve gotten so use to the instant load speeds that when playing this enhanced version it feels like it takes forever to load up. Then I booted it up on my old ps4 pro and was shocked at how long I use to wait for this game to boot up. Man we get spoiled so easily 😊 but I’ve been enjoying the heck out of this a 60fps and the ray traced reflections really brings the gta world to life. At times it looks photorealistic until you sit in a car first person mode and look at your car doors 🤣 textures from 1998 called and they want them doors back

After viewing other KZbinr(s) you have GTA 5 Online since 2013 the PS5 or Xbox X Series version gave me a few major features that the old gen version could not which is the online mode where your created character can now select a session in the menu without leaving the current session on either solo mode session, invite-only session, crew session only, closed friend session, and public session real-time on the spot. And then there's HAO's workshop where you're given a fast but not suitable for track racing vehicle where you get these 5 exclusive vehicles in PS5 or Xbox X Series version and most of the cars are just Imani's Missile Lock Jammer yet all of the 5 vehicles regardless of there price will just be destroyed by 1 RPG missile, 1 Homing Missile, and 2-3 Explosive Rounds from a Heavy Sniper. I mean for the record a Toreador and Khanjali Tank is enough to destroy these 5 exclusive cars which is not worth the price at all. So to those who wish to get 60 FPS with an RT + Performance enhancement yeah if you have the money and the device then go for it. Just remember you're still not close to beating an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X + RTX 3090 + NVMe SSD Storage with an 8K - 12K 360Hz display Monitor which displays a minimum of 300 to a maximum of 599 FPS both RT + Performance enhance already in a PC ever. In Conclusion to console players that wanna see the 60 FPS + RT + Performance then please go for it and brag to your friends if they own such PS5 or Xbox X Series. I both have the consoles like PS4 and Xbox 360 which is the old gen with my friends whom I played for since 2013 which doesn't have the money, which is poor like me and has also a potato PC like I do but is playing with fun each time of the weekends so yeah I'm sticking in the old versions. In the end, it's clearly up to you if you wish to go on the next-gen with only a few people or friends that own a next-gen console then it's your call pal. And at the end of the day, we will all see who enjoys it most. When you port for example your old-gen account in GTA 5 to the new console you cannot return back to the old console version. Here's the thing. Skyrim got ported across 3 generations. People made fun of it for sure, but it was mostly welcomed by gamers because it's very nostalgic experience. However, GTA V does it and people don't just make fun of it, they critzised Rockstar for releasing just another port. Maybe it's because Bethesda made an official announcement regarding ES6 so we know it's coming in the near future and GTA 6 is still up in the air whether it will happen anytime soon or not. That's really the only reason I can think of is that this got ridiculed and Skyrim didn't (at least not to this extent).

This upgrade is super worth it, especially if you could get it at a discount. Of course, I wish it would’ve been free, I get why they charged though(just not full price, unless you never got GTA on the previous consoles). I have been playing literally since Day One and I can say for a fact, there is a huge difference between the Xbox 360 and the Series X. You’re not comparing it to the last Gen, where we have most of the same features as the Series X. So, all of the upgrades come with the comparison. I really like the UI of the menu, how they took from Red Dead Online’s menu and made it better. The graphics and frame rates I can get now are amazing. I’ve been a console player for most of my life for my AAA games, so I don’t care when people say, “It’s just a PC port on console.” because I never got to experience that in the first place. Other than the pretty upgrades and the cool, muzzle fire, there are mechanical upgrades. The driving is noticeably better as well as general movement. The shooting feels different for me (is most likely the added FPS, but it doesn’t make it any less sweeter) and the kills are so much more satisfying. Sure, like I said before, it should’ve been free, but I’m sure glad they made this. This is nothing like those imposter, ‘Definitive Editions’. I was nervous about starting a new character in online (it’s completely optional to do this, you can import your character) because of all the progress I had built through the years, but that too, was worth the risk. I’ve been having fun leveling up again and actually being involved in my businesses. I understand what Rockstar was trying to do now with RDO and their Roles, GTAO just does it a bit better. Not going to lie, this game can get a bit stale after nine years, but this reset and how they reset you is really refreshing.

The dualsense implementation is fantastic ! This is my first time returning to the online mode in about 5 years. I decided to see what the club was all about and was blown away by the haptic feedback. Think of the remote pulsing to the bass-line and slowly getting stronger as you near the stage. It really does add to the experience in a meaningful way and I can't wait for more people to experience it. It's near perfect implementation for the technology. I also noticed it while driving on the highway over the bumps in the road and hitting the yellow centre-lane poles. Great work done by the team to implement this feature in a more subtle fashion

I personally prefer the more subtle approach. I’ve played cyberpunk and Call of Duty where the trigger pressure is cranked right up. It just gets tiring after extended play sessions. Rockstar has implemented in a way that adds but doesn’t detract which I like. As for The Music Locker, spend some time listening to Keinemusik to feel how well the vibrations are done. Other than Astrobot I’m not sure where it’s been done better

Can't lie, I played this on a LGC1 OLED 4KHDR 65" & There is a big diffrence with resultion & colour, I use filmmaker & edit it myself & the game has deep colours, very clear from the ps4 version. It really looks clean on an OLED from what I've experienced, I believe it's the OLED that makes this game look different, I tried this on an LCD TV it just looks grey with some colours, but OLED my god, words can't explain on OLED

I’ve played through it on Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC. I dropped $10 for the PS5 version and imported my Xbox online save. The one big change on PS5: cell phone calls come through the PS5 controller’s speaker. Not sure if I’ll do story mode a 4th time but I thought ten bucks was worth it in case I decide to later on after the sale is over.
