The prologue is set in 2004. 9 years before the main setting. It's been out 8 years, meaning soon the game's present will be closer to it's past than when we started playing.

The Prologue is really well made, imo its one of the best "missions" in the whole game as its just so nuanced and a really great way to introduce the characters; yet telling everything you gotta know in roughly 7 Minutes

I used to play this game on my Xbox 360 when I was very young like 15, even though it’s a 18+ game. Later I got a PC I bought it again and I still have it at my steam library. Looking back at my old self playing this game when it came out I was just happier. Now I am like 22, I just don’t have the same energy when I open it, it’s just gray and boring now (like my life), even the online mode. It doesn’t help that they’re taking ages to release the next GTA
