The legal definition may differ from state to state but typically an Assault is verbal. Battery is the physical act. Assault with a deadly weapon in that case is if he is threatening violence or harm to him with the bat in his hands. You probably could of went Agg Battery on him instead but again it could vary from state to state. I have heard the term get switched up before.

CivRyan has done a few streams as dispatch. It's boring to be honest. After about five minutes, you realize everything there is to it and it's challenging as a dispatcher but boring as a viewer. Respect goes to all the frequent dispatchers in DOJ. The server wouldn't work without them.

Well in my 8 years experience in law enforcement, KMatthewJ, you are correct and incorrect in your statement. Some laws law enforcement officers don't know because they don't deal with them on a daily basis. However every officer does have to take regular refresher classes to stay up to date with local laws. Most officers in retrospect, do know most of the laws that they enforce because its required for them to do so as well as most laws they deal with on a regular basis.

I'm law enforcement as well in TN... if the individuals live together, related, have sexual relations, etc.. we classify it as domestic violence and aggravated or especially Aggravted depending on situation.. most states classify it the same but it varies per state on what the DA will charge them with depending on the relationship
