It would be cool to RP a SAR-operation! Here are some ideas: -You guys go hiking in the mountains, one of you falls off a cliff and needs to be located and transported to the hospital -Crash a plane in the mountains and let them set up a SAR-operation to find you -Fall of a ship and let them search for you in the sea with planes, helicopters and boats

I'm wondering what they would set up to find the victim. Sometimes they're pretty chaotic. It's not just a simple callout, it's a whole operation that involves pretty much all agencies. Also this time it's not just cars, they might need to use planes, helicopters, ATV's etc.

Elcherfin that would be cool for both sides. The victim and friends who get impatient and the rescue who will have to co-ordinate with the dispatch. And maybe one of you could do petty crime while it is going on to prevent them from throwing a ton of resources at it. The one thing I would love to see is management of resources, and if need be adding more as the incident progresses

The cops do not run air traffic, what the heck. As well as the ambulance that was chasing Polecat like they go outside of their call of duty a lot. And it's not legit that they were chasing Buggs and Polecat because of the officer that Polecat killed, due to the fact that Polecat killed the cop in isolation as soon as he pulled up.

He flew from one uncontrolled airport to the next. Legally he doesn't have to file, or contact ATC for nothing. And the area he is in would make sense for it to be Class E. If he was flying around LS International and the city it would probably be class Bravo airspace with a mode C veil 30 miles around the city which he would need a mode C and sqwauk. And even then he doesn't need to file a flight plan. Just needs to contact ATC and get a clearance.

Jeff, being a licensed pilot as well I know that you don’t have to file a flight plan unless you plan to do: IFR flights Defense VFR Flights, which are required to fly in the ADIZ that is off the coast of the US (an IFR flight plan may also be used). Some TFR's only allow air traffic to fly within their boundaries if they are on an IFR or VFR flight plan. A DC FRZ flight plan is required to fly VFR in the DC FRZ. A DC SFRA flight plan is required to fly VFR in the DC SFRA. When entering or leaving the U.S., an ICAO international flight plan (IFR or VFR). School those cops for me next time Jeff.

I'm a pilot, you don't need fucking authorization to fly in the air!! North America is THE only place in the first world where you are free to fly wherever you want, except across borders where you need to communicate with the borders of that other country. Flight plans are not mandatory for non-commercial flights. They're greatly suggested otherwise if you go missing they don't know where to look, but they have no legal grounds. ..ugh.. Jeff knew. Anyway. Gotta know what freedoms you have man cuz they're narrowing down the list day after day.
