tbh i don't understand why they haven't given us drag vehicles yet, they've done all this for drift car and i'm sure drag racing would be just as popular. Shit it used to be back in the day. All they'd have to do is add some sort drag tires and gives us a form of nitrous and id be happy.

I think drifting got attention because it already had a community, as well as the fact that randomly drifting with someone in freemode is a lot more likely than randomly drag racing someone.

​@yaboiaaron89 drag races go down at LSIA all day everyday in freemode. Tbh drag racing is pretty good as it Is right now. The community is small but we all agree wheelie methods and stuff is perfect. Now what we do agree on is YES WE NEED NITROUS. Nitrous would spice up the drag racing to new heights. We already have 8 second passes imagine the times with nitrous in the mix!

They added Low Grip tires for only a handful of cars at first before allowing you to add them to everything. Im really hoping they follow the same pattern with the drift tuning, i dont see why not. My top cars to be added are the Cypher, the Widebody Sentinel, Karin Sultan RS, and the Elegy Retro custom🤙🏿

Using mods in single player, i found that the drift tuning is actually a 2nd separate car from the one without drift handling. Meaning there are 2 cars in the game files, one with vanilla handling,and one with dirft handling. That would also mean more drift cars woukd immensely increase the game size.

I think GTA vi will have body shops for each style. Donks, drifting, drag racing, lowriders, stance, etc At least that's what vibe I got from the trailer

Honestly I wish we got a few muscle cars or "sleeper" sedans like Stainer or Impaler ZX thats about to come at some point. It would be fun to see some Sabre and Tulip sideways action or a gang of slammed sleeper sedans dominating the drift spots

The problem with the drift tuning is that it's not an actual upgrade like in ls customs, it's a 2nd car in the game files that has drift handling. That's probably why it's just 8 for now. That also means more would duplicate the cars and make the game bigger.

I can't fault anything BUT I would also add Karin Intruder or simply to create a new Karin Intruder or a car resembling the Toyota Chaser JZX100 in the future DLC

Definitely would be cool to see, since the Intruder is mainly based off of an Infiniti Q45 it would be nice to have something closer to a JZX.

I could take it or leave it for a few of these, but overall, a wider variety of Drift Tunable vehicles with Drift Pedigree would be amazing, given the overall positive opinion within the community.

Drift upgrade uses an entirely different 3d car model and meta files for the car, hence why they didn't add many of them (or all of them). It is unlikely that they will add much more of them in the future (as long as GTAO continues to be supported)

It uses a different model, yeah, but it's just a copy of the original with the altered metadata. It's the exact same thing as any other DLC vehicle, but it's probably way easier to make since the only thing that changes is the handling, not the geometry. And also, the metadata itself seems to be pretty similar among all cars with the drift tuning upgrade, so the handling is probably another copy-paste operation too. You're making it out to be waaaaaay more complex than it is actually is lol. While Rockstar probably won't make it available for every single car in the game, I really don't see any issues with them expanding it to at least a few more cars. Like they've added hundreds of entirely new DLC vehicles to the game over the years and that hasn't been an issue.

It would most likely be because of of how each cars' stats would be altered and allocated. As rockstar is notorious for not patching old content (eight years for wheels, ten years for interaction menu, etc), i cant imagine this will take place of low grip tyres and they will fade into obscurity.

@@StevieWunderKid no, he's not. Check the car files and you'll see. Even try to spawn it in single player. Every car has one car file, no matter what you do, except for these 8 cars. They are literally 16 car files for 16 separate cars. You can spawn a non drift and a drift version of the car. That affects none of the other cars.

The only issue I have with the drift tune, is the fact that the cars have to be 4x4 now, the issue with 4x4 is you get under and over steer so you can never really drift properly and with the toy car physics of the game it doesn't help the cars keep angle and on snow they slid all over the place lol, great video though man :)

I think you're making it out to be way worse than it actually is - while there is some tendency to slide all over the place, the fact that the AWD is only a 10-20 / 80-90 split makes it pretty manageable. I've been able to hold lots of angle, even in snow. Thanks for watching regardless!

Id love to see drift tuning on the following: Kuruma Vigero ZX 300R Jester 10F/widebody Ruiner ZZ8 both Go-Karts Glendale Custom Zion Classic Nebula Turbo Issi Sport (I wouldn't own this otherwise) 8F Drafter Primo Custom Blista Dashound bus (because why not) Ingot F620 (it has an amazing exhaust note)

The manual transmission is only specific to those new drag races, it won't be available for freemode or any other race type (as far as we know now). But yeah, having that option available for drifting would be incredible!

Nah, it's not. It's basically a gearing bug that acts almost like a clutch kick in an IRL drift car, giving you a brief boost in torque to link together longer drifts.

Don't worry Rockstar will add it as it was with low grip tires. Before tires was only for some cars modders could apply them to every car and the same happend now. My friend using popular menu and he have ability to add drift tune to every car.

The Drift Tuning can't be applied to every car currently, as it's a unique upgrade that completely swaps out the existing vehicle model for another one with all of the drifting attributes - therefore, getting a 1-to-1 copy of the drift tuning with mods would be very hard to do.

The Kanjo's an interesting choice, but I highly doubt that since the car really hasn't ever been used for drifting IRL. The Sultan RS I definitely agree with though.

Stevie! No car in this game feel or sound like the real life cars at all!! Some cars are mix with others cars idk why lol. And tbh the skyline n supra wouldnt look good for drifting(my opinion) they’re more like track cars since the elegy has good handling! It doesnt spin out and all that! Supra aka the jester lol had a bug but honestly would be sick if can change the sounds of the cars and swapped motors and all that

Merging the upgrade isn't possible, since the drift tuning converts the car to a separate car model with the drift attributes. The drift tuning isn't something added on top of the car, it's a conversion to another model - therefore merging is impossible.

Why wouldn't they? Whatever drivetrain the car had before the upgrade wouldn't matter at all - they added drift tuning to the Drift Tampa which was AWD, no major reason why they wouldn't add it to others...

They should also add my personal favorites the Warrener, Rapid GT, Gauntlet, and Vigero. The Vigero was the first car I learned to drift with back in the early days and still holds a special place in my heart.

There's a lot going on under the hood that would make it hard to apply those kinds of upgrades to every single car, but there's no doubt Rockstar should make them available for more cars than what exists currently.

I think the snow might be skewing things a little bit. The cars can drift both slow and fairly quickly, and I don't think the speed at which they drift is too far off from real life, either.

Yeah that's not real lol. The drift tuning basically converts your car to a different model with all of the drifting attributes, and since there's literally no file for a "Drift Elegy" in the game, applying the tuning to that car is impossible.
