I don’t understand this conversation about transferring progress between games. Why should that be a thing? It’s a new game so you start from scratch like in any other game. They probably wont shut down the GTA 5 online immediately but just stop updating it and move to the new one…

But everyone has been playing it like it was GTAV/O ​@ju4npablo It's not like the Generational/PC leap where the loss of support or the delayed release is a gripe. Would you say that the progress of other peer to peer games should transfer to their new respective onlines. or MMO to MMO(Like WoW/Classic, or XI to XIV, or Destiny 1 to 2.) No, When it came down to it, no one expected it who's played games for a long time. Just like they never expected anything in IV/MP to V/O. Online Games shouldn't be restrained by old Baggage that inevitably kills its ability to run. While MMOs with large Lifespans should never go 2-3 decades old. GTAs Multiplayer/Online, have always been tied to the next releases arrival.

Idk why people over complicate this. Literally gta 6 will drop, gta 6 online will drop, both 5 and 6 online will be up for a while, and after some time they will eventually announce they’re stopping gta 5 online.

I think: Your current gta online character will transfer over to Leonida. However you will lose all in game currency and all character levels will be reset. Rockstar could add a final mission in the current gta online that shows your character getting arrest and being transferred to a prison in Leonida. When you load into the gta 6 online map, the character is released from prison. Or simply, when you first load into the new gta online, there will be a cut scenes where the character gets arrested in Los Santos and gets transferred to Leonida.

Another great episode. I took the photo while listening to the podcast on Ocean Drive! I'd like to start GTA VI Online at Rank 0 and start from scratch. I think part of the enjoyment of the early days of GTA V Online was the grinding. I do hope they release a separate client for Online though, so I can boot up Online without having to launch the story mode.

Nothing has been made official, but my guess is around 6 months, GTA V Online released 2 weeks after main game's release, RDO "Beta" released just over 2 months after main game's release and stayed in "Beta" for like a year or more. Honestly I doubt they've even started on any major work for GTA VI's online.

Is there a chance Los Santos will be made available on GTA6 Online? In the future, yes. But from launch? No way. People have been waiting 10 years for a new GTA world, who in the right mind is going to want to play in Los Santos when it has already been explored to death! Hard reset, new character. It would be really nice if we got a more flexible version of the "personal vehicle" system, where we can have multiple vehicles and decide which one to use, and we can park them in places and come back to them without them de-spawning or getting "impounded" the moment our backs are turned. As long as you are parked legally and aren't in the way, and it's a vehicle that you own or a vehicle that the cops aren't currently looking for, it will stay there for a long time even if you go to the other side of the map in a different vehicle and come back. Or you can go boating and then bring the boat back to the boat ramp and your truck with the boat trailer is still there waiting for you.

re: GTAOnline- Los Santos. What I think will happen is they'll have the 2 worlds of 5 & 6 co exist seperately but what I would like to see happen is Los Santos rebuilt (remastered) to the level of GTA 6 where you have GTAOnline as both the map of 5 (Los Santos) and 6 (Leonida). One big map of 2 worlds where Rockstars original vision of being able to travel to multiple cities in a virtual world would slowly become a reality and built upon through each new entry to the series.

Hello everyone. Greetings GTA6 O'clock team! Great show as always, very interesting topic about what's going to happen to GTA Online. What I think will happen is that GTA Online will become its own game. It's mature enough to be a game apart from GTA 6. RockStar knows very well now the model and what to do with it. They didn't expect the success of GTA Online, but now they know it very well. It might be something like, when you get GTA6, you buy the single player campaign, but you can bundle it with Online, or just buy GTA Online.

It doesn’t mean much but I believe the Rockstar 25th anniversary logo is 100% legit. Rockstar have made artwork variations of their logo in the past which appeared on their website. Most notably the one of the kneeling female robot, which to me shares a very similar nostalgic look & feel to this logo.

They're probably going to keep GTA 5 online and GTA 6 online two separate games. And Rockstar is probably going to support GTA 5 Online for a few years after the GTA 6 release, since there were birthday hats found for GTA Online that go up to the 16th or 17th birthday of the GTA Online character. (I'm not sure up to which number the hats go)

We still have not had a micheal dlc... So there is more aligning for this. And frankling being in it, doesnt excuse it, as he is now in online him and lamar dr dre and lamar buissness dlc. Its like an very slowly evolving story. But micheal lamar and now frankling do a big thing with us the online character. There are not that kany more missions and assets from single player they have not reused. One being the cinema, and the other being the military. Equally no vigilante or paramedic or firefighting missions still in the game. Its really bad that we still dont have that is a staple of a gta game...

GTAV/O will run on support, GTAVI/O will run and become the main focus. Both are Online, and to access it, youll need the Respective title. The only thing that exists between them is the account linked to it. No item transfers, no anything. Many players enjoy a fresh start. Only thing is like said in the video, bonuses to those who played V/O.

@@derpeth2101 You just connect to a corresponding lobby, the loading happens in the background, so it doesn't matter which game you actually load. In the end, they will probably let you load from the R* launcher anyway. BTW, it already has been done in other games.

I do believe online should be its own separate game. we've already seen that rockstar is experimenting with this idea by selling RDR2 and GTA V online separately from their respective base games. However, I don't believe GTA V should be focused on the same as GTA 6. they should keep adding 2 yealy updates for GTA V and leave the servers on, that's it. We've had 10 years to explore that map there is nothing else exciting they can do with los santos. If they were to implement or update new cities into GTA 6, I would want them to do Atlanta, Chicago, or Liberty City. I love GTA 5 so much but its time to let that game go.

I highly doubt we will get to transfer any sort of progress from GTA5 to GTA6. I’ve been playing GTA5 since it’s original release. From a player point of view, you would have already unlocked everything. From a business point of view, Take2 wouldn’t make any money out of you, i.e GTA+ / shark cards. I’m happy to start from scratch again, brand new world, gameplay and engine. You have to remember GTA5 will be coming up for 12 years old in 2025 (+3/4 development time), it will be completely outdated compared to GTA6. Maybe with this coming GTA Online update they may have a treasure hunt for a special small unlock for GTA6, like they did for RDR2. My thinking, big summer update and a small update in winter, GTA6 release March/April 2025, I think they will continue to run GTA5 online until maybe 2028, realistically who is going to still play GTA5 after GTA6 releases particularly on console. In terms of the GTA5 online I’m really curious what they are going to add, I’m thinking maybe like The Contract Part 2, with Franklin/Michael some reference to Trevor and some sort of reference to GTA6, possible just the location. If Michael does make a comeback he’ll be approaching 60 🤯. It would be cool if the was any sort of reference to a certain Latina making moves in Miami, maybe she steals/hacks a record from DrDre.

You're all making the GTA Online thing WAY too complicated. GTA VI's online will most likely be it's own thing, pretty much a whole new start, maybe give you free or discounted things for using your same account (some money, apartment, car, etc.), they'll likely stop updates for GTA V's online but probably won't shut it down for good, and likely not gonna work like your "Fortnite theory" (you seem to play way too much of that, sorry, not sorry.)

Heres what’ll happen with GTA6s online. It’ll launch. It will be separate from Vs. It’ll surpass Vs online in terms of revenue within a year. If it doesn’t have a disastrous launch. Vs servers will remain online for at least 15 to 20 years. IVs servers are still active, so I’m not even sure why thats being questioned. Also DD saying that Take Two isn’t just gonna leave money on the table. JJ is 100% right. Whatever revenue they’d lose will be greatly offset by people buy VI. But also … GTA Vs, single player DLC would like to have a word with you. RDR2s, single player DLC would like to have a word with you. Red Dead Online, would like to have a word with you. Historically they have ignored/cancelled/or gave up on multiple things that would have made them even more money than they have.

GTA VI and "Online 2" are independent from GTA V and GTA "Online". I don't ever see Rockstar allowing us to transfer characters. People might be miffed by that, but they at no step specified your Online character was EVER transferable to new IP's.

Any type of legacy content and I'm out of GTA6 Online straight from the off, unless I get in on the ground floor with MP I never jump in there after. Fomo and prior loyalty can get in the hin. GTA5 online was awful because 5 is dated horribly.
