I honestly didn't even know that Special Carbine Mk2 is a favourite amongst many GTA players. I just like it for the design and the sound of it. The usage of it is quite practical when I compare it to the Assault Rifle Mk2 and the only reason I prefer Special Carbine was the rate of fire in comparison. It just felt good. Didn't even know it's Meta or Fan Favourites in GTA Online.

I think many players have a special (no pun intended) place in their hearts for Special Carbine from the times when it was go-to weapon for new players, back in 2014-2015. Also when Pacific Standart was an actual money making method it was a standart weapon for the heist, so it goes for it too.

Good point. Especially when you consider that it's not the most powerful. But it's the sexiest looking rifle, such a perfect design. It's the rifle everyone imagines what a perfect one would look like.

@@willprox440 I think that's the first time I've laid my eyes on these sexy looking rifle, yeah. When they gave us the Mk2, boi was I happy. My own personalized version of it. I'm a simple guy, so I went with the Black, Grey and Cyan look to it with no patterns. It makes the Blue pop out with the dull colours. Good for stealth as well during night combat.

@@swervedriver5260 Agreed. It's the most "Rifle" looking Rifle to me. I immediately made it my Go-To Rifle whenever I do something that needed blasting. I never switched anything else. I do kinda wish we have more Bullets for the special ammo types and instead of just better ways to resupply ammo. At least make the Trace Ammo the same amount as default and the others are like half or 1/3 of the max, at 3k. Would've loved to personalize it even more without having to reload every session or a mission.

It's alright, but I'm one of the few that prefers otherwise. The feel, sound &/or the look of the Carbine & Bullpup Rifle MKII's just does it for me more. Something about the Special Carbine MkII feels slugglish to me, probably because it is comparatively chunkier to the other ARs.

I honestly think the rifle looks best with no attachments. The offered attachments look weird bc they're modern, but the rifle is retro (at least retro inspired). It would've been cool if they had some period-correct attachments like the old school colt carry handle scope.

As long of a grind this has been, I'll stick with the Carbine Rifle MK2 simply because of optics. Optics give you an extra zoom level which isn't too useful in auto aim lobbies, but can offer a huge benefit in free aim.

Imo extended mags always look worse. Unless the weapon greatly benefits from it like the assault shotgun, I don't use them. Mag dumping is usually a bad idea due to reticle bloom, plus you'll drop more ammo on death with a larger mag. Having said that, I feel the other mods ruin the look as well imo

The extended mag looks fine to me, it makes sense for the mag to be really big, it's holding 60 rounds. The grip does really ruin the look of the gun tho

Aside from it’s decently balanced stats, I’m just pleased to see that the Service Carbine “M16” has finally made it’s way into GTA Online. GTA V was the only game of the franchise that didn’t originally feature this legendary machine. Apart from a few of the top-down GTA titles of course. It is much welcomed in online and scores a 10/10 for me!

It's my new favorite. I always loved Bullpup mk2 for it's high bps + accuracy, but Service Carabine is also really good, and sounds like a real killing machine.

The Carbine Rifle MKII will always be my go-to weapon because I just really like that gun but because I spent over 4 hours trying to get it in between trying to collect all the LD Organics products, this will be my main weapon for now (at least until the next DLC in December if there is potentially another rifle but I doubt that) because I do like the Service Carbine and it might just be me but I like the sound rifles make without the suppressor as opposed to with the suppressor.

Yeah the Service Rifle is definitely my new favorite gun, I can see why people want the option to put a scope on it but in my eyes it's cursed to have a scope on a fixed carry handle and the gun looks nice the way it is. It's a M16A1. I like putting the green tint on it so it matches with the grip. :v

If we ever have a Service Carbine MK2, the extended magazine would look like a 2 30 magazine taped in the middle, an M203 grenade launcher for Underbarrel, heavy barrel and compensator for Barrel, and instead of the usual advanced scope for the other AR's, it would have an ACOG scope for it

My favorite rifle has always been the Carbine Rifle MK2. It might not be the best performer, but with a solid fire-rate, middle of the road DPS, and great audio, it has served me well for the past year or so.

Well done as usualy Ghillie you are the best for those things. I think that adding a suppressor and a flashlight etc is not a good idea because this iconic weapon should stay "clean" as in old Vietnam movies. Maybe an extended mag but it looks better "as is" cheers

I really like it, even the fact that there's no scope options for it. It looks great, sounds awesome, great damage, and just overall a better weapon than that last "rifle" we just got. Also, a tip for those trying to get this gun: I set a 30 minute timer on my watch on a private lobby. While waiting for the timer, I was working on getting the LD Organics collectibles and loading up my warehouses. It made getting the rifle much more bearable.

What made the MK2's special was the lack of first shot recoil (due to muzzle & heavy barrel) and that's only useful for Aim Assist (to chain shots right to the head). If you're on free aim like me, MGMK2 (1st Person) and ServCarbine (3rd Person) are the ones to go.

My go-to is carbine MK2 with armor piercing rounds, or combat mg MK2 with bst. And in close range is obv the pump MK2 with explosive rounds. And for people on oppressors it's heavy revolver MK2 with high points and bst

I'm convinced there is someone at Rockstar that, when it comes to weapon sounds, is making an awesome job. Even if you don't like the precision rifle, or say the heavy rifle has worse accuracy than the new service carbine, the sound of those three is top-notch. Those three are now my favorites (also the Carbine mk2, Atomizer, and the Heavy shotgun). The sound this rifle does when it has a silencer attached to it makes it my favorite stealth weapon at the moment, just very close to the ADP which I thought was invincible. About other attachments? I think is okay with the included options (I didn't like how they mounted the flashlight, but okay). Adding something like a grenade launcher, the same that appears in games from Call Of Duty/Medal of Honor/Battlefield would be so cool, even when it is unnecessary (you have two dedicated grenade launchers, but that would've been cool). Also, I still fire three rounds and stop for some reason (like if that had a firing mode), the same way I do with the Heavy rifle.

Thanks for the review, yours are the best ones out there. Would be cool to see a more detailed accuracy and stability comparison of all the rifles and SMGs. Final spray pattern images you show in the vid are not exactly comprehensive, since automatic guns become too inaccurate after 15-20 bullets of continuous spray and usually mess up the picture. Would be better to show either full spray recordings side by side or screenshots after 5/12/30 shots and also ranking them.

This is the 3rd rifle I have shown in my weapon wheel as an alternative to the advanced rifle. I didn't add a suppressor since I have one on my heavy rifle. I only hid the special carbine MKII because some bug keeps causing my equipped ammo type to switch on its own.

Imagine having the option of turning any weapon, except heavy weapons, into a MKII weapon. Like getting a Heavy Rifle MKII, Advanced Rifle MKII, Service Carbine MKII, Military Rifle MKII, Compact Rifle MKII, etc. If we got a weapon workshop or Agency armory then Rockstar should add that ability to all non heavy weapons. It would also give players more customization that's not the same colors that's been in the game since Oct. 2013.

This video was VERY good and idk if you've done it already, but you should do it for each weapon type e.g. pistols, LMGs etc. GTA doesn't really have that kind of content - unlike games like Warzone

I notice all of your tests use suppressors on the weapons. I’ve noticed that in game the damage bar goes down when equipping a suppressor. Does it alter the damage in any meaningful way or is the damage nerf negligible to not have to really care?

This is what I done to make it as less hassle as possible to get the parts to unlock the M16. Go into an Invite Only lobby. Wait 30 minutes, for this part I went AFK as I don't really wanna be playing GTA for 30 minutes. AFK also bc you can't leave the lobby or you reset the 30 minute wait. After 30 minutes go to each of the 10 locations until you find a crime scene. I used a Sparrow to fly around the map. When you find the crime scene, kill the cops and call Lester to remove wanted level. After retrieving the gun part, go into a new Invite Only lobby and repeat it all again. If you happen to find no crime scene at any of the 10 locations after one search, don't waste any more time as it's bugged. Immediately go into a new Invite Only lobby to reset the 30 minute timer for a new search... hopefully bug free. All this took me 4 hours to unlock the M16 except I only spent 30 minutes searching as the rest of the time was AFK. Not sure if this made any difference, I found all of the crime scenes at night.

Not a bad design for the Service Rifle. It's just a pain to search for those crime scenes, for me they spawned only in two places each time.

I really do like the Service carbine/M16 it was a pain in the ass to get and i was very close to give up on it when i had 4/5 parts collected since the last part never showed up.. and just stick with my Carbine Rrifle. But i managed to get the last part to the Service carbine at the end any way, its a fun weapon to use and it sounds great and it handles great as well its a dope weapon, But its not going to my go to weapon, i will have it as an second AR in my WW (Weapon wheel) i like to rotate between weapons and use different once since it gets a little bit boring to use the same weapon to much, i use the M16 from time to time but ive always loved the Carbine Rilfe Mk2 and no weapon will replace it for me it has been my favorit weapon in the game for years now and ima stick with the Carbine rifle MK2 as my go to weapon. Keep it up Ghillie!

Tip: The MK2 guns can be used if your MK1 guns are low on ammo.

i hope rockstar would make a mk2 variant of the service carbine and turn it into a m16a4 complete with picatinny rails to mount sights and other attachments. probably nerf the range a bit to balance it out.

Not a pvp player but was leader in a rng with it solid gun for close combat other than the hunt for it which wasn't that bad no complaints

I think it is a good weapon from the videos I have seen. Especially since it's free except add-ons and upgrades. I haven't gotten one crime scene yet in invite only. Maybe just not hitting the areas at the right times I suppose.

When I was grinding for the m16 I had been ignoring other blue dots(cayo perico guard, metal detector, smuggler plane, exports). I later realized that I had to make sure that those events were completed to get the crime scene to spawn. It might take multiple times but you’ll get it. Also, remember you have to wait 20 minutes in between for it to even spawn in the first place.

I wouldnt bother, better off with spec carbine, if the police scenes show up then get the weapon part, then its truly free, its simply not worth it.

No me and my friend were fighting another day on GTA for fun and when we used a carbon rifle and actually has pretty far lock on arranged is actually better than most of those rifles for lock on range.
