I remember back in the day, staying up till like 4am with my cousin, playing Vice City and taking turns at being 'law abiding' citizens.... It rarely ended well. "Did you see that? He cut me off! This injustice will not stand!" *Shoots rocket at car * *Cops come * "Thank god you are here, officers. This person has just cut me off. But don't worry, I've deescalated the situation. It's all been resolved." *Cops begin shooting * "Please! Officers. I don't have any beef with the law. I'll come peacefully." *Wasted * .... See. It's not easy.

I tried the law-abiding citizen thing in Saints Row-- the first one back on the 360. I deliberately tried _not_ to hit the driver when I slapped a shot into their back window after the light turned green. It was more effective than the horn.

Turning right on red is illegal in New York City(Liberty City?). I’m not sure about LA.
@thajocoth
@thajocoth 2 жыл бұрын
@@mmcfeat Manhattan has no rights on red because of the super high pedestrian traffic throughout the city. Most other US cities, even if super densely populated, don't reach the same levels of pedestrian traffic. Part of that is because it's more concentrated thanks to the very ordered layout, efficient subway systems, and most people in the nearest regions outside of Manhattan (the other boroughs of New York City, and the areas adjacent to those boroughs) working in Manhattan as well. I used to live in Manhattan. I didn't even bother having a car, as it would've been more drawback than benefit. Now I live in a different city. There's a small section of my current city that's an efficient grid with high pedestrian traffic that's difficult to park in, but most of the city needs a car to get around in. Some intersections in that small pedestrian heavy section have no turn on red signs for that exact same reason. Given what I know of LA's needlessly complex layout, I really doubt they have a law against right turns on red. Fun fact: When I was a kid (early elementary school), I was in the passenger seat with my grandma driving. She started moving forward through a red light, so I pointed out the "No Turn On Red" sign to her. Her response was: "But we're not turning. We're going straight." and she just ran the red light.
@mmcfeat
@mmcfeat 2 жыл бұрын
@@thajocoth I had one hell of a commute through Queens and Brooklyn for several years. I still find myself sitting at red lights waiting to turn right even though I left NYC four years ago. That is a very interesting way to interpret “No Turn on Red”. I don’t think it would hold up in court, though.

The solid white line on the edge of the lane is called a fog line, it's there to help drivers stay in their lane during low visibility conditions. You're not actually meant to 'drive' along the side of the road, where available that space is for vehicles to pull off the road to deal with mechanical failures or other issues without impeding the flow of traffic.

The "Dusche" sign at the liquor store is typical GTA wordplay. In English it sounds like douche, so it's already a nice word play, but it also means shower in German. And the sign is golden. So it's basically a golden "shower" sign. And the beer in the liquor store is called Dusche gold, so this was definitely intentional.

was chilling to this and watching Jane drive around, then I burst into laughter suddenly as I realized how wholesome and ridiculous it is that 1) Mike and Jane have their toaster oven on wheels stolen, 2) find an abandoned sportscar instead, and 3) find out their tiny smartcar has in fact been valet'd to the golf course. Only on outside xbox!!

I used to do a similar thing with older driving games. Test Drive Unlimited 2 let you use indicators and control the radio, windows, and headlights. I would try to be a law abiding driver. Also used to do it in Driver, and GTA3, and The Italian Job, and Mafia, and The Godfather. I know some of them aren't strictly driving games but I thought it was fun. I remember after playing Driver all weekend I pulled out on the wrong side of the road after returning it to the video store and Dad nearly had a heart attack. Good thing it was like 8:30 on a Tuesday or whatever.

My brother was playing an open-world-ish racing game once, years ago (think it was one of the Need for Speed games) and they had to step away for a bit, so I picked up the controller and tried to drive around the map legally, just for fun. The trickiest part was not speeding; the freeway/highway/interstate wasn't the worst, but it was almost impossible to move at anything less than 50 mph.

Nonono, we have roundabouts here in America. At least in SE Michigan, where every dang road off of a highway, every 4 way, and many busy intersections have been bombarded with or converted to roundabouts in the last 15 years. They're not so bad, but people still do not know how to navigate them Also, very beautiful and wholesome stream. I love messing around and exploring open worlds like this sometimes, it's fun to see you guys having a chill time

The Bikers DLC mentions cryptocurrency a lot, and by The Doomsday Heist, Lester mentions how crypto has become passe. :D Enjoyed your nice normal law-abiding day, that only involved a little bit of petty larceny, auto theft, and vehicular homicide.

This doesn't always apply but the general rule I remember is, if you're in a foreign country look at your car, the side on which the steering wheel is, normally you drive on the opposite side of the road basically keeping the driver in the middle of the road. So US wheel is usually on the left, you drive on the right and the driver is closer to the centre line of the road. UK wheel is on the right, you drive on the left and the driver is again closer to the center of the road. It's not always the case but as a hard and fast rule it works.

As someone who's worked with many charities, please give directly. Red nose/comic relief give VERY little to charities that need it. Small charities get a pathetic amount while bigger ones get more, yet can do a far lot less with it due to costs and is ultimately a drop in the bucket. It's honestly not worth it for how much of your money lose. Set up a direct debit to a local charity that matters to you if really want to make a difference .
