I have done a test. Swimming a hour (non-stop) made me 5% faster with a wetsuit then without. I tested it in a 50 metric pool. Favo discipline: swimming 🏊🏼‍♂️

Luckily my first Triathlon was swimming in a pool so no wet suits. However for next year one is on my to buy list :x

I looking to ditch my wadders for fishing and looking to grab a good wesuit. My needs for a suit are when i travel north and gey into cold waters. Tired of wadders lasting 1 season and dropping 300-500 on anothet pair. Pluss wadders can actually become dangerous depending on water current if you fall into the river.

Dont waders keep you dry too? Maybe a dry suit would be better for fishing

I used 3 wetsuits for a 777km swim. And 4 for a swim of 985km in 2019 (orca). Just in a rag☹️ They don't live long🤦🏻‍♂️

@@allancox4694 the lower end entry models go for a few hundred and the top end about a thousand. I’d recommend one in the $300-$500 range (before discounts) for a good mix of longevity, performance, and value

@@allancox4694 Roka has $450+ (upper middle quality) wetsuits on sale for sub $300 all the time, their entry models start $200-$300 and can be had for sub $200 on sale quite often also.
