Thanks for doing this video! It helped me to understand the logic of pure strategies!

I think he means player '2' in 1:14?

How come a player can have two kinds of pure strategy?
@DaddyF2P5 жыл бұрын
Since G>H for player 1, does that mean the only SPNE here is (AG, CF)?
@kathz1538 жыл бұрын
AG CE also should be NE?
@jakeclifton33106 жыл бұрын
I believe no because AG is not player 1s best response to player 2 playing CE... he’s better off playing BG or BH in that instance
@zes72156 жыл бұрын
no such thing as easyx or interesx or not

why is (AH)(CF) a nash equilibrium? Player 2 is clearly have a motivation to deviate from 8 to 10
@jakeclifton33106 жыл бұрын
The way I look at it is “is each player playing the best response given the other’s pure strategy..” so given player 1s strat AH (everything in second row are options for player 2 given this strat), clearly 2s BR is CE or CF. You’re saying that AH-CF isn’t a NE bc 2 is better off at BG-CF... but you’re forgetting that player 1s strat is given as AH, not BG

@@jakeclifton3310 Exactly. Player 2 can't decide which Strategy Player 1 will play. It would be great for Player 2, if Player 1 would choose (B,G) , but this would be a really bad choice for Player 1 because of a lower payoff. So with playing (C,F) there is a chance for Player 2 to get the 10 while all other Strategys are worse: (D,E) and (D,F) with 3 < (C,E) and (C,F) with 8. He only chooses (C,E), when Player 1 plays (B,H) because 5 is greater than 0 so thats why there is the next Nash-Equilibrium. (A,G)-(C,E) and (A,G)-(C,F) are pretty much the same for Player 1, so thats in conclusion why those are also Nash-Equilibriums.

i hate when u jumble up words like at the beginnin g- i know its human error - but it kills the flow of the lesson as im thinking about whether u meant to say player 1 has 8 pure strategies or u actually mean player 2 has that many...
